Rifts open on a configurable timer at random locations near players (or at fixed spots you define). No admin needed — the server runs its own events.
- Server-wide announcement with coordinates + a glowing particle beam marking the rift — everyone sees it, everyone runs
- Configurable mob waves — types, amounts, health/damage multipliers per wave
- Boss finale — a buffed vanilla boss (Rift Warden) with custom name and boss bar. No MythicMobs, no dependencies
- Last hit wins — the player who lands the killing blow on the boss takes the rewards. PvP chaos guaranteed
- Nobody closes it in time? The rift silently fades — no punishment, just a missed prize
Close a rift, earn a relic. Each has a passive (while carried) and a devastating active (right-click) — powered by a charge system that keeps players hunting rifts.
- Riftwalker — Passive: speed near active rifts. Active: dash forward, leaving a damaging rift zone behind you for 3s
- Gravity Core — Passive: no fall damage. Active: lift every enemy around you into the air and pull them in
- Phoenix Ember — Passive: fire immunity. On death: revive once with a fiery nova blast. Plus an active flame nova
- Timefreeze Shard — Active: freeze every mob and player around you for 2 seconds while you move freely

Running RuthlessSMP on the same server? RiftSMP detects it automatically:
- Rift boss kills can grant bonus hearts (configurable)
- Rift mobs can infect players with curses on hit (chance, curse type & duration configurable)
- No RuthlessSMP? Everything else works exactly the same — the integration is a pure bonus layer
RiftSMP was written Folia-native from day one, not patched later:
- Every scheduler call runs through a Folia-aware adapter — region-thread safe spawning, effects and timers
- Rifts are location-based, a perfect match for Folia's regionized threading
- Same jar runs on Paper AND Folia — the plugin detects its environment automatically
Hand-drawn relic textures, pre-hosted — nothing to upload.
- Set resource-pack.enabled: true in config.yml → restart. Done — URL and SHA-1 ship pre-configured
- additive: true (default): stacks on top of your existing server pack (1.20.3+) — no merging, no overwrites
- Without the pack everything still works — relics fall back to clean vanilla looks

🛠 Troubleshooting
- No money reward: Vault or an economy plugin is missing — money is skipped silently, relics still drop
- Relics look like vanilla items: resource-pack.enabled is false (default), or the player declined the pack. Nothing is broken
- No hearts from bosses: RuthlessSMP isn't installed, reward.ruthlesssmp is disabled — or the killer is already at max hearts
- Placeholders show raw: PlaceholderAPI isn't installed — identifier is riftsmp
- Changed config, nothing happened: run /rift reload

FAQ
Does it really run on Folia?
Yes — built Folia-native from the start with region-thread-safe scheduling. The same jar detects Paper or Folia automatically.
Do I need RuthlessSMP?
No. RiftSMP is fully standalone. If RuthlessSMP is installed, you get bonus heart rewards and curse-infecting rift mobs on top.
Do I need Vault or PlaceholderAPI?
No. Both optional. Without Vault, boss kills still drop relics — only the money reward is skipped.
Will the resource pack conflict with mine?
No — ships disabled; when enabled it stacks on top of your existing pack (1.20.3+). Legacy replace mode available.
Can I customize the waves and boss?
Fully — wave count, mob types, amounts, multipliers, boss type and name are all in config.yml.
