THIS IS A FORGE MOD PROJECT. 1.12.2/1.13
Please only message me if you're a Forge Developer interested specifically in the project.
I'm not interested in your Discord groups.
What is OreScape?
OreScape is a large mod project in development for a multiplayer-specific server.

The mod carries roughly the same features one would expect to find in the MMORPG Runescape, but placed in a scenario where team-based PvP plays a crucial part of the server. Unlike traditional faction servers, structures and bases are pre-defined, and you don't dig underground to find resources. Instead, you explore around the map with your teammates to adventure dungeons, uncover hidden loot, and most importantly: Fight off all factions who would oppose you.
1. There are six factions to choose from that represent the Gods of Runescape.
2. A large-scale map filled with limited resources, expansive dungeons, and dangerous enemies.
An example of what the map might look like:
Colored dot = Faction's main city.
Green = Spawn location for each faction. (No PvP)
Yellow = PvP is enabled in this region. Mid-tier dungeons and resources are found here.
Red = Dangerous zone. High-tier dungeons and resources are found here.
Black = Endgame. The toughest dungeons are found here, with difficult bosses.
OreScape encourages players to work together when venturing out of their home city. The wilderness is dangerous, and players will need to explore dungeons in groups to face the various mobs that guard the resources. Unlike traditional Minecraft, resources are located in static locations across the map, and you have to find them in the world or in dangerous dungeons.
3. A level system that serves to gradually unlock better weapons, armor, and tools as you gain experience.
As with the base game, you need to earn Experience in each different skill to unlock access to better equipment. The full list of skills are still under construction, but below are ones I hope to implement in-game.
4. A wide array of unique bosses that drop rare, uncraftable equipment.
Bosses are something I definitely want to include, but this is probably where the most difficult part of the modding comes in, so this is the last priority when it comes to development.
So, what is the endgame goal for the server?
Well, every faction has a city, and that city contains a crystal. Factions can go to war on each other's cities, and if the crystal is destroyed, that faction is gone entirely. The remaining players of that faction can join a new one. Once all but one faction are defeated, the server is reset for a new "season." Keep in mind that this isn't as simple as it sounds. All cities are heavily guarded by high-level NPCs, as well as the players in the faction themselves. A faction will have to coordinate well to take a crystal out, and it will require a large stockpile of near end-game gear to arm their players with.
That's all planned so far. I'm looking forward to making this mod a reality. I'm comfortable handling most of the art involved in the mod, and I'm mostly looking for experienced coders able to help me put things together. If you think this is a project you'd like to help me bring to life, I can be reached on my Discord. Send me a PM for more info.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. This could bring a fresh experience for the MC community to enjoy! I hope you can help me bring it to life.
