Hello!


I'm looking for an experienced System Administrator or Minecraft infrastructure specialist to help diagnose performance issues, packet translation problems, and crossplay instability on a Paper 1.21.10 SMP running Geyser & Floodgate.


This is not a request for plugin development — I need backend debugging, optimization, and Bedrock compatibility fixes at the system/config level.

About the Server​

This SMP is a perk for a growing streamer community.
We maintain a “mostly vanilla” survival world, averaging:

• 10–15 players online normally
• 30+ players when the streamer joins
• 2–5 new players joining daily

Server runs on:

• Sparked Host
• 12GB RAM
• 3 vCores
• Paper 1.21.10

Issues Requiring Administrative Diagnosis​

Most issues are specifically affecting Bedrock (Geyser/Floodgate) players:

Critical Problems​

• Crashes when near other players (PS5/Console/Bedrock)
• Frequent item loss or disappearing items
• Players being launched hundreds of blocks (velocity issues)
• Instability in the Nether
• Enchanting table functionality breaking
• Claim trust not applying reliably
• Villagers not breeding (mob griefing inconsistencies)
• Armor visual bugs
• Anti-Xray false ores showing for Bedrock
• Fishing auto-kick for “autoclicking”
• Spawners switching mob type without changes

These problems suggest a possible mix of:

• Packet translation inconsistencies
• Misconfigured plugins
• Anti-cheat conflicts
• Bedrock vs Java behavior mismatches
• Paper configuration issues
• Scheduling & tick-related performance problems

I need someone comfortable identifying and resolving root causes, not “quick fixes.”

Essentials, LuckPerms, Geyser, Floodgate, GriefPrevention, PvPManager, AntiSeedCracker, IllegalStack, Shopkeepers, TAB, Orebfuscator, CoreProtect, ProtocolLib, EndDimensionControl, WorldGuard, GSit, DiscordSRV, and others.


You will be given:
✔ Full plugin list
✔ Current configs
✔ Logs/crash reports
✔ Access to timings if needed

What I’m Looking For​

A system admin who can:

• Analyze Paper/Geyser/Floodgate configs
• Review plugin load order & conflicts
• Identify Bedrock-specific packet issues
• Interpret logs & crash reports
• Optimize server performance for a mixed Java/Bedrock environment
• Recommend configuration changes for stability
• Ensure claim systems, anti-exploit tools, and QOL plugins cooperate cleanly
• Tune the server for consistent 30+ player loads

This role focuses on technical diagnosis and performance improvement, not plugin development or community management.

Budget​

Base pay: $50 (via Venmo)
The rate is negotiable depending on:

• Depth of analysis
• Experience level
• Efficiency
• Proven track record
