Bought sponsored spot the other day, since buying nobody has joined, and honestly judging from the website stats, there are only on average 10 guests online at once, not worth buying sponsored at all. Waste of money for me.
Take my advice if you don't want to waste money. Don't get me wrong, it's a good site and all, and the prices are good, but they are low for a reason...

We are sorry you were unhappy with your sponsored slot. We have had a lot of positive feedback from our slots but unfortunately there are reasons why some players choose specific servers over others. Just because a server is sponsored doesn't mean every visitor will choose to play on your server and continue to play on your server. I would recommend looking at your server and try to think of unqiue changes you could make. Also banners is what catches visitors eyes so having a professional unique banner is preferred for sponsored slots. Also I wouldn't judge our traffic by the counter at the bottom of the page. That is not accurate 90% of the time. We use Google analytics to track our traffic.

Just like to add that sponsored slots are not intended to bring you all the traffic from the website. Having a sponsored slot lessens the odds of your server being skipped from potential viewers (unless of course you have a decent vote count) which indeed you need to catch the viewers eye either way with unique wording, and custom banners/icons try to imagine yourself as a potential viewer. As all of these things are intended to work with each other.

Also websites have up times, and down times, With views. typically a website is at its peak later in the day, or towards the end of a week. Beginning's of every week are normally the slowest. I wouldn't say it was a "Waste of money" you still had your server name recognized by potential viewers.
