So pretty much, when you give someone negative reputation, there is a 99% chance they will rep you back with false information. I have learned that Mc-Market does not remove the false reputation. I think there should be a new system with negative reputation. Leave suggestions below.

To be fair this is absolute correct. If someone lets say was rude to you they would leave you a minus rep for somet like toxicity. But then since you have damaged there reputation, they will damage yours. I had a joke with a guy for not knowing what SEO standed for, and he decided to neg rep me for no reason and just made up shit. To be honest the whole rep system should be remade from the ground up, and instead of leaving stupid shit comments. They have to provide a URL for proof(screenshot or mc-m thread where it is clearly stated), and then check a box with what they have done (e.g scamming or toxic). Comments are where you can just say "This guy did this to me". Guys like to drag stuff on with reputation. But honestly it isnt the case. They should be plus repped for 1 reason or another. not for "did this with me, amazing guy and good friend" since there is nothing to rep him about. all he did was be a friend to you.

Anyway thats my look on it lol

If you're going to make a suggestion saying the rep system should be changed, then please give an actually suggestion on how it should be changed, or what should be changed about it. Otherwise it's like a lot of the other reputation suggestion threads..

The staff team is working hard on removing false negative reputation. The fact is, there's a lot of backlog. Sometimes you will have to wait longer than a week for it to be removed. The staff have been working hard on the backlog. Lotus recently did a marathon and responded to a ton of support requests. The staff team is currently working on the backlog for support requests. There's no need for a whole new system when the problem causing for this solution is already being worked on.

I think that the reputation system is useless, people can rack up a lot of positive reputation and still be scammers, or people can rack up a lot of negative reputation because they argued with something.

Example:
User1: You have this flaw in your product.
User2: User2 neg rep's User1

utaninja But still, there should be more staff, there's only like 5 staff, and they can not handle a community as big as this one.
There was just four new staff added to the staff team. You need to give the staff team a chance. The fact is, making a whole new reputation system will just delay everything even more. Modifications to the reputation are already being worked on.

The reputation system should have never come back and should be completely removed for good. Most people with a high amount of rep have gotten it from doing small deals or even free things just to seem more reputable and more or less trick people into dealing with them. The reputation system also causes a huge backlog for staff to deal with which is never good so in my opinion I wish it was gone.

So, uta is correct that there have been new additions and that’s making backlog go faster.
Also, we do remove false reputations, generally we’ll remove through 2 things. 1) if it’s clearly breaking a rule such as it’s only 1 work “trash” for example is easily able to remove.
2) Through reputation disputes which are opened by the staff team.

Now, there was a system designed to make this process faster and easier for staff to handle however the developer never added it to the add-on. But that doesn’t mean it’ll never be added, Mick has been looking into new developers to do these additions.

If there’s a certain idea you have to how the system should change so false reps are removed faster, please give explain it.

Yep happened to me 3 times, have waited months but to no avail, still hasn't been removed or even notified to me about it.

Negative reputation with certain common keywords or "fake reputation" should be held for review instead of going onto someones profile. Reputation rules should also change and shouldn't be subject to the opinion of a moderator. Instead it should be strictly based off of the rules. Only seen 1 or 2 mods do this.

All reputation is based off the rules. Just because a mod doesn’t rule your way doesn’t mean they aren’t doing things based on the rules :)

Also, that just creates more reports for moderators to handle which will likely just cause more backlog. Once people start realizing that those certain words are trigger words, they’ll start trying to circumvent them or start misspelling things. And while we could just warn them for that, it’s still a lot more work added to the role of a moderator.

However, once a developer that will work out is found, certain adjustments like character limit might be added to limit how many false reps are given.

I've actually seen it happen worse when it rules my way. I haven't seen a single mod who is completely abiding by the rules to make judgement. The way the conclusion leans towards has no affect on what rules are being violated while a moderator is judging an outcome.
Almost every single moderator reviews the evidence, and then bases the conclusion based on their opinion of the evidence; not by the fact that the evidence leans towards a per-defined conclusion instead. (Not that this matters to you or anything)

If you care about your site enough, I'm sure you guys will find a way to enforce a better system maybe including the trigger phrases maybe not. :):):):)Kappa

Although the adjustments would be good, won't people be able to put random letters at the end to ensure it hits the limit, such as "User tried to touch my dead 3 year old grandma adjaujfijanfuafnafmijafnjafnmafuakqpakmajk" <- 80 characters in total

Yeah, they could, but that would easily be removeable and they’d be warned.

Okay, so how would a staff member review a reputation dispute without an opinion coming into play? Also, you mentioned the rules should change, how should they change? Because it’s one thing to say that they should change but it’s more helpful to suggest what it should change to.

Just thought of an Idea. How about you guys hire people called "Reputation moderators" and pretty much, you can file a dispute on reputation because in these days, its all about reputation.

Just how humans work. Don't really think you can fix this. People will do revenge rep and make it seem like a legit rep anyway.

AS far as myself and many others can see you guys are removing reps that should be left, and removing valid reps lmfao. You would think that Mc-Market administration would see the recent explosion in rep comments and reports, and understand that a change is required.
