Well, I have to say this server isn't that good... Just got the standard essentials no even customised or changed the messages, still has the '~' before nicknames and the '< >' around the player name.
Oh and I was banned for admitting to not reading the rule :') They asked if I read them, I said no :')
EDIT: Moved to an IP ban because I came on an alt to reason with him :') I was actually looking for a new paintball server to play on too haha

All you did was joined, said our server is stupid and then talked trash about it and left. No wonder your username is RatedMC.
Also you joined with an ALT account which is against our server rules and you disrespected the staff which is another rule broken.

I want a refund if theres no players at all because I have seen this on another advertising company/person threads and sites.

Complete lies... I said you should change the '~' and the '< >' and you told me to leave, not once did I ever "disrespect" the staff at all. Plus the only reason I came on with an alt was because you asked for players, I was there to play but you turned me away by banning me when I was quite evidently helping you develop. I would prefer it if you didn't make up rubbish to big yourself up.

This is as far as I got. If you want players to stay, you have to make your server unique and fun. From what I was able to tell, yours is neither.

You literally came in and just started talking how bad this server is and how you don't want to talk to me when I told you that you can leave if you don't like it. We need players, but not players who don't like to play on our server and totally hate the staff. So I asked you to leave. Then you came with an ALT which was against the rules so I IP banned you.

I never once said the server was bad, I did however say I wanted to play and enjoy the server and I was giving you things you should improve upon like the Essentials messages etc. If you're not willing to let people give you constructive criticism you should just delete the server. "didn't read rules" no one reads the rules before they play most servers anyway, every server has the same basic rules.
I made it clear I was looking for a Paintball server and a place to build, however you told me to leave after I said about the essentials messages. You cannot expect people to play if you yourself sends them away.

You really can't just say "if you don't like it don't look at it" on a forum where you're advertising, especially on a forum where business is done, expect people to critique your server, they're just saying their two cents to people who come on the forum to see what's going on. Honestly replying to people trying to defend yourself isn't always a good thing, especially when people are giving advice, doesn't really matter if they're being nice or not, it's still advice?
Reminds me of those Kitchen Nightmare episodes where the owners say "if you don't like the food the leave" and then they end up leaving and so do all of the other people, learn from Gordon Ramsay!
Not trying to trash here, but as a YouTuber and server owner myself, I can say that this is a very poor rule. When you hire a YouTuber to make a video, you're hiring you YouTuber, not their audience. If the YouTuber uploads a video on your server, but their audience simply isn't interested in that type of server, or doesn't think it looks good, how is that the YouTuber's fault? When hiring someone to create a video, you need to take the risk that people may not want to join your server, and if no one joins, the YouTuber should not have to refund, as he has taken time to record, edit, and uploaded the video for his audience to see, hence fulfilling his side of the deal.
Again, not trying to trash and I'm sorry if it comes out that way, just letting you know that that rule is going to set off a lot of warning bells in people's heads, so you may not get too many takers.
What do I say. Im kind of in middle of a server owning depression right now. People will probably comment noon cares or what does that have to do with anything. I have never well . I have but this critisizing hit me hard and when someone logs into your server just to tell you that all you have gone through turned out to be crap hurts. To make this server I had to sell my steam account and remove all my good friends which most I couldn't contact anymore. Start using my save up trip money and fix the server. I fixed it and fixed it. Got scammed when ordering the website is where the depression hit me as it was christmas. Worst. experience. ever. I'm sorry for being so rude, childish, stupid, bad owner. Before someone comments "you're trying to take the blame on someone else" . no. I take it. Im sorry. MCM was really never my place. Im really sorry I wish I could undo history I got totally sad and angry that all my work is nothing and turns out to be crap where noone wants to play.

If you respect people on here, they might want to help you. Simply changing default configuration options are free and if done right can make the server way better!
You all probably hate me now anyways and I can understand that.
We don't hate you, we're trying to help at this point because we, or at least I, feel bad for you. It sucks to hear that you got scammed and all but feeling bad for yourself and playing the victim card isn't going to get you anywhere. Like Krazy said, the essentials on your server can be fixed for free, no premium plugins or anything, just going into the config and changing some stuff is all you have to do to get your server turned around and on the right track.
Edit: Try doing that, and making a new post or something and I'm sure you'll find lots of nice people willing to help you with your server and give you advice.

We can just forget that, do what we said and trust me, players and people looking to play and critique can at least move past that, host some sales so you can get some cheap premium plugins, there are so many cheap ones that can improve the gameplay by so much.
Okay, thanks. Do you have any developers to recommend? I have no idea about anything about custom plugins.
I do fully custom Skript work for pretty cheap if you don't have the funds for Java, it's a pretty good option if you are okay with it. I have a thread here: http://www.mc-market.org/threads/155651/
