Okay here me out but I thought this was pretty smart.

Recently with the account lock-waves, a lot of people have been losing money. (Including MCM due to people not wanting to buy premium)

I think I figured out a way to counter this, however.

1.) Make the account section viewable for premium+ only temporarily. I know this will stop some sales, but it's better than losing an entire account.

2.) Give Premium users the ability to delete their own threads rather than Supreme. You could also just make an auto thread-deleter that deletes a thread after it's marked sold, which you can turn on or off.

3.) Make the association system not viewable to other viewers, (i.e let people have to have the account associated before they sell it like it is now, but only staff can see who has accounts associated, not other members) If staff truly aren't giving out names to Mojang for them to be blocked, then this + #4 will create a huge blow to Mojang lock waves.

4.) Users/people should be allowed to/put asterisks (*) in their thread titles & threads themselves. If people want to know what the account name is, they can PM the user.

I'm pretty sure if all of these are in place, Mojang will not be able to (or will struggle to greatly) lock accounts that have/are being sold. If all else fails just ban Swedish IPs. Kappa

Leave your thoughts below, thanks!

EDIT: Idea #1 has been implemented. It seems like MCM's trying to do something. However, as I said later on in the thread, a better idea would be to make it so that instead of you having to purchase the premium upgrade, you should have to reach a certain message amount. This would completely eliminate ban evaders, as well as Mojang since they'd be caught before they reach this message amount.

For example, make it so access to the Semi-OG section requires 300 messages, access to the Cape Section requires 500 messages, and access to the OG section requires 750 messages. This way, more active users can go into each of these sections without having a $10 paywall.

I feel if we combined a little bit of each of our suggestions we could probably get rid of the lock wave. Like my idea with the asterisks and the association thing where only staff can see associated accounts, User's idea about only being able to see your thread if you can't meet requirements, & your ideas which if I'm being honest, I haven't seen but are probably good.
your ideas which if I'm being honest, I haven't seen but are probably good.
apparently to some people it isnt lol
it was basically the same thing as this but it had some components from Love 's suggestion and User 's

Yes people are loosing money due to accounts getting locked but they have a right it's there game after all
Yea, but I think if you bought a game you should be able to re-sell it due to the name. You're allowed to re-sell physical games back to Gamestop after you get bored of them, why shouldn't you be able to with Minecraft accounts? I can get my physical copy of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition and go to Gamestop and sell it, but I can't sell the more-popular Java edition? Like what.

I am neither against nor for the removal of Minecraft account sales. It is against Mojang's EULA to sell accounts and therefore I do not believe MC-Market should take part in preventing Mojang from enforcing their Terms. Notwithstanding, I also find it a disservice for us to not do anything for our community. If we had spent the last several years with a neutral stance on MC sales, it would be different. Though we have actively provided a platform for sales and I believe it to be a major mistake for us to not do something to work with the community on the matter while simultaneously avoiding any act which would fully prevent Mojang from enforcing their Terms. You all must understand, when you sold your account(s) you were indirectly acknowledging the implied risk that Mojang could lock the account at any time. We are therefore not responsible for the account locking, though as I stated previously, I do perceive it as a disservice to stand by and do nothing.

1.) Make the account section viewable for premium+ only temporarily. I know this will stop some sales, but it's better than losing an entire account.

I can see both of these suggestions as viable, I actually brought up the first one to the staff team previously. However, I do not want this perceived as actively working to prevent Mojang to lock accounts. I merely believe that working with and listening to our community in this situation as more favorable than striving to be perceived well by a third-party company (Mojang) whom certainly already dislikes us for permitting account sales at all. By failing to make any attempt to work with the community in such a situation
would be a major oversight.

If Mojang wishes to lock accounts, we cannot exactly go out and stop them, it is the seller's responsibility as in the end they are the ones who took the risk by selling it.

I'm in favour of making it Premium+ but what on earth is this?
If you were to block out the title of your thread with asterisks, you could not give hints on your thread to get rid of the risk of someone figuring out the name without messaging you.
