I was informed by dan that Marc posted on Twitter that accounts weren't locked, that passwords were "reset" during their security sweep of some sort. Not sure what that means for OG sellers...

This was found on Mojang's Contact Support page:

Not og, or semi.
But it's my account which email and pass no longer work, email doesn't work anymore (for the acc) and i can register a new mojang with that email.

That can not be said for everyone single account taken away as the account taken away from me,It's username is not available, The name is still possessed by the account I changed it on ,also the same with friends account's.

This tweet is awfully interesting. As said you will have to approach the mojang support team for further information as you know as much as we do.

The emails to the accounts were changed not the password lol. I wish it was only a password reset.. would have been so easy to get accounts back. Gonna assume Marc misunderstood "lock" as deleting the accounts

They're not locked. Read my post above. I added new proof.

Locked = our terms for what Marc described

A new automated system adds a suffix to the email and resets the password if an account is thought to be compromised (this is what we refer to as "locked") i.e migrations on the same IP in bulk, quick name and password changes etc. can set off the system.

This was indeed for security to stop people's accounts from being cracked. Same reason for why email is required to migrate now.
