It's honestly people's fault to mix it with "Rep" because they should know it isn't. I lost 1k ratings, but not because I think I have less "Rep" now but because I liked having 5k ratings, it was like an accomplishment to me, now Mick removed them without even asking which was not fair, + if you're going to do such thing because of the "Rep" confussion then get a reputation system instead of simply removing funny ratings and fucking half of the community. People use the funny rating to piss other people off. They can and will still do that. The only difference is now the victim won't gain anything positive from the situation. This is just a lazy attempt at fixing the reputation system, and it helps no one.

Or, Mick could add a whole separate rating system. Keep the old one, and add a new rating system below it. Example: Ratings: 1,901
Vouchs: 1,203

Removing the ratings was the best thing that's happened to this site. They definitely weren't positive, only helping "rep whores" and trolls.

Keep them out until people here develop a real sense of humour, because out of all those "funny" ratings, I'd be surprised if one actually made me laugh.

Anyway, the logic of this system is poor because "funny" ratings still exist. They were just used sarcastically every single time, which accounts for 80% of it not being funny. The other 20% was just people either needing to resort to insults to be funny, or just something stupid. I'd think the really cheesy cliche jokes that have been around longer than you are more funny than the 5% of stuff that isn't sarcastic ratings or insulting jokes.

You know, everyone that makes a legitimate joke should just get +1000 positive rating points. It wouldn't actually break the system, because you wouldn't find any legitimate jokes.

So yes, abuse would be imminent.

That'd be an amazing system. The only sites I know utilising such a system have no credibility whatsoever, and also are filled with reputation abuse to the extent that they can't remove the system because of reliance on it, and it definitely can't be fixed. It's too time consuming and unless staff have nothing else to do, it would be a very poor decision to implement. Controlling it would just be a huge waste of time, and there are bigger problems around here.
