There isn't much description to be added for this. With each reputation that a member leaves on another's profile, they have the option to enter the amount their deal consisted of. When/if they deal with that member again, they can just describe the new deal in a new line and then add the amount of the new deal to that of the old deal.
Some members keep track of how much they've dealt using this system. More importantly, for services like currency exchange, loans, and investment, the total funds that people have handled (even if it wasn't their own money they were handling, like in currency exchange) gives potential customers a good idea of how reputable they are. If I've handled several thousands without having negative reputations towards me, it's a good sign that I'm not about to steal the customer's cash. I feel that a member with 50 rep having handled $5K is more reputable than a member with 50 rep having dealt $100.
Thus, having the total amount that a person's handled conveniently tallied and displayed in the reputation overview is a good idea, IMO. Let me know what you guys think.
EDIT: I feel what I've described in this quote is as important as the title. Not sure if it deserves its own separate thread

If this is supplemented by a second addition to the rep system - displaying the largest single transaction in the summary - it could be excellent, because it would show just how much the [user] could have scammed in one go (but chose not to). It’s a good gauge for overall rep.
