Hey! Basically, I'm just wondering what I would need to get, how to set it up/who could set it up, how much money I will waste running the servers, the ideal price, equipment and the budget for creating a hosting company. If you have any of this information or any advice (besides "do not make a hosting company") please reply below or PM me ON SITE. Thanks!

Please don't trash the thread. Thanks!
He has a point.
There are hundreds of hosting services already setup, and unless you've been working on an already made hosting company, you'll probably run into a ton of problems.

Edit: Please trust me when I say there's a huge difference between trashing and good advice.

I understand, but I at least want to know how to create them.

For starters, most people have their own dedicated box. It's been awhile since I've purchased one but I believe they're a few hundred dollars on ebay or some shit. An extensive amount of programming has to go into the site to retain full functionality and accessibility, so you'd need a willing and able programmer to help you.

So,

There are a few things you have to take into account here;

1. Systems you're going to use
2. Website + Control panel
3. Services you're going to offer: Minecraft, VPS, Web hosting, Dedicated servers
4. The provider you're going to use
5. Are you going rent your hardware or colocate it?
6. Security of your systems
7. Security of your client's data (Very important)
8. System maintenance

If you say you're able to provide a solid answer to each of those above with good funding behind you (this heavily depends on the route you take) then go for it. But if you answer it like this: (Please do not get into the hosting business if this is roughly your answers)

1. i7's cus they're fast
2. some template and pterodactyl (nothing wrong with the panel, just very alpha and in my opinion not ready for a paid service environment.)
3. Minecraft of course!!11best gameever!!
4. OVH ofc i have to resell that best ddos protection ever u know??!/1 (Don't use OVH; they're not bad just over saturated in the market)
5. ^
6. I hired fox to be my systems admin!!!111 hes the best (sarcasm)
7. ^
8. ^

Hope this helps,

Usually the people who will tell you "the market is too saturated" have a vested interest in making sure you don't start a competing business (or are just repeating what they heard someone else say).

The market was "too saturated" when we started - now we're the largest game server host in Asia Pacific.

Don't let anyone discourage you - even if not for financial gain, you will learn a huge amount which is invaluable and will help you with your career regardless of which path you take.

I'm happy to chat with you, teach you what you need to know, provide advice, etc.

vested interest
Oh yes. So because even I agree that the market's oversaturated means I'm biased and have a vested interest? You can't put facts to opinions my friend, much like the other way round. Maybe it's true for you, but for someone like me it's not.

Perhaps read my message again:

You're still generalising, which doesn't change a thing.

Perhaps, but it's simply a fact that it's still possible to earn at least a full time income in this space (and much more). I did not use absolutes or state anything as a fact in my message.

In my opinion, all competition is good. The cream always rises to the top. What is the negative impact for consumers? Too many choices?

It takes a lot to even start thinking about creating a hosting company. There is a lot of technical information you must understand. You need to know how to manage a linux machine and bash. If you decide to host from home, you could save a lot of money, but sacrifice internet capability and speed. OVH sells good servers for relatively cheap. Starting a hosting company is no small task, and it could take up to a year to get things up and running smoothly.
