Sorry, I don't see that he is recruiting an army of dedicated managers from the thread? He makes it very clearly, he just want staff members and he didn't specify an amount. Also, yes I agree that owners need to spend time, pay effort in it, but many of them don't require money / it is invaluable... Like Time, or even they can make logos, code plugins themselves, cost for advertisement is not really essential if he is making a server for entertainment as he can invite friends and reply on human relationships so I don't agree on your statement. Lastly, He makes it really clear that he is making the server for entertainment, so he can use free plugins/code plugins himself ( same as logo, website ) which is also dedicated to the community
I think you've misunderstood the meaning of my paragraph, I also agree that less networks rely on Minecraft server as their main income. Also, do you know Mineplex and Hypixel don't pay their helpers (trainees) and moderators? They only pay their developers/leadership team members as they have a huge workload ( working for huge servers with more than 5000 players ) and their managers are mostly adults and they all have required skills and levels of qualifications like Marketing, computer programming..etc Systems and workloads are really different with most small servers
First, thank you for not denying my opinions. Second, he told people that he had funds coz he wanted to show he had enough money to keep the server running, and server funds are not all for paying staff members. He just doesn't want people to leave and think that this is a trash server as this is just a server for fun ( if he hadn't told us, people would have left the page immediately )
Yeah I agree with you, but I just want to clarify that not ALL people in the Minecraft community care about money, there are people willing to do staff jobs for satisfaction, experiences or finding new friends..etc So let's make a conclusion and stop this argument, there are people wanting to do Minecraft jobs for earning money and they put their dedication into it but there are also people willing to help servers out without payment ( money ) . Minecraft can be both for making money and for entertainment, done..

As Tab_G said, this is for fun. While it isn't serious I don't want a bunch of clowns staffing. Also, payment isn't necessary as I am running a Minecraft Server for 'fun'. I don't expect my staff to work extremely hard but rather as a fun little side project. Just because I don't want to pay people makes me disrespectful is absurd and one of the more wack things I have ever heard. I am doing this for fun and have a passion for doing it, not hunting out servers to do a job and then collect money. Also, I am not looking for an army of managers, just 2 and a few other staff positions. I understand that some people turn this into an actual business, but I guess I had to be more clear because you cannot infer that I do not want to pay for staff. Half of the time, servers don't end up making any profit and lose hundreds. This is exactly my point. Yes, I can pay for a job but I want to do it for fun and get experience in managing a server

Probably can't afford to. It could be a delayed gratitude for some positions, working and later on receiving some type of gratitude.
Some people are willing to working without charge or for just a reputation and vouch. Deciding to pay specific positions is up to the owner(s) decision, it's just high quality "staffing" can't be guaranteed.

Pretty much. I have just enough to run the server but not to pay. And yes by not paying I'm not expecting amazing staff but expecting people who would staff to do it for fun, experience, and to build a proper portfolio
When you say fun and staffing, the word abuse usually comes up.
I completely agree and that is one of the things i will look out for when selecting staff
