So this is my suggestions, but MCM SHOULD allowed people to ask for reputation after an SUCCESSFUL trade or sell of anything - From media accounts, to minecraft accounts, and fortnite skins. From youtube bot subbing (I don't like but people do it) to premium accounts and what not.

It's stupid to have done a successful trade or sell something and not be able to get reputation for it.

This should be greatly thought about as it could help US legitament selling and buying users.
Even if it's something like "You have to at least sell/trade $30.00+ dollars WITH proof in order to gain positive reputation from your selling/buyer/trader" sort of thing.

I agree, still remember the time I successfully dealt with someone and they decided to be an *sshole and report me for asking if they'd like to rep each other because of the deal.

If you have dealt with someone you should be able to ask for reputation, and honestly everyone already does, you can just get unlucky and get in a situation like what I described above.

This is one of the rules that isn't "actually a rule", I don't know how management would feel about changing it.

Same thing happened to me and it was a nasty fight. At the end of the day both of us dropped the case

Wait. If we're not allowed to ask technically wouldn't that mean everyone who does vouch copies should be warned or banned?
Vouch Copies are an entirely different thing from giving reputation, sadly most of the users on here don't know that. Vouch Copies are given out so you can test and vouch for the product you receive and not the creator of the product.

I’ve always found it to be common courtesy to leave someone reputation after a deal. Why people are against leaving and receiving reputation is beyond me (besides those trying to avoid a negative review.)

I don't see why you're not allowed to ask? I always ask someone if we can +vouch each other after a deal, assuming it goes smooth for both parties.

As far as I know, you are allowed to ask for a rep after a trade, just don't specify positive/negative rep.

I am neutral-negative towards such suggestion and let me explain why. Personally I believe I do not have to take more of customers time than absolutely necessary to provide the service. Those customers who will truly appreciate your service will leave you a Rep and slowly you will build the number higher.
I believe that honest and true customer feedback/Rep is a lot more valuable than "requested" reputation.

You have 26 rep isn't that enough? Why do you need to collect every single one?

From my experience, you are allowed to ask for reputation. However, you can't ask for specific reputation.

I.e, this is allowed: "I hope the deal went great, feel free to leave a reputation on my profile based on how you think our deal went"
but this is not, "I hope the deal went great, remember to leave a pos rep on my profile!"

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is always how I've went about things

The rules clearly state that you cannot even hint to leave/exchange reputation. I learned this the hard way, I never told someone to leave specific reputation, only asked them if they'd like to rep after a deal, instead I was reported and warned for "abusing the reputation system".

Wait really? I was told by mods a long while ago that asking for non-specific rep was allowed. Guess it's better I got told now than getting in trouble later lol

Nope. I was told by staff that asking for any reputation is asking for positive reputation as you wont ask for negative reputation if the deal went down alright.

"9.3 Do not hint, suggest, request, or imply in any way, a specific reputation rating upon yourself or another member."

By this rule, you ARE allowed to ask users to give or add a rep. You just cant tell them to add a specific rep.
An example that is allowed would be, "Don't forget to leave your opinion in a reputation on MC-Market"
And example of what is NOT allowed, "Hey if you liked <resource> make sure to give me a <good|bad|other> rep."

Then make a support request about this. As a lot of others have mentioned already, you are allowed to ask for reputation, but you can't ask to leave a pos/neutral/neg reputation.

Back about a year ago we introduced some pretty radical changes to the way that we handle reputation. We made all reputation left by banned members be marked as uncounted in your reputation totals and disabled the reporting functionality to reduce abuse and targeted. The changes that we made were certainly controversial at the time, but looking back I'm a firm believer that the changes we made back then were the best that we could have made.

Our reputation system is very far from being perfect in its current state, and we fully recognise that. Since it's introduction we've changed many policies and spent countless hours developing new custom systems, such as disputing feedback.

At the moment we aren't planning to do any more development for our site until we can migrate to XF2. We're also not going to be making any changes to our policies surrounding reputation. Our system is stable at the moment, and making a change now when we're going to be redeveloping everything shortly isn't beneficial. Perhaps once we move to XF2 and have fixed all the bugs that come with that and have more time for some new development and to consider the impact that instituting new policies will result in.

Until then, I'll move this to denied. Once we migrate to XF2 if you feel that this is still relevant please create a new suggestion thread and we can look into it once again. Thank you to everyone for your support and criticism of our systems, it is definitely the best way for us to improve.

Thank you,
