I have used anvilnode before and so far everything has been working perfectly, but $22 a month for a 5Gb server is quite a lot as with pebblehost, I can get the same for half the price... Any opinions/suggestions?

I use a 10gb VPS from aquatis.host, Runs pretty well and is ~$20/mo. PebbleHost when I used it (months ago) disappointed me a little bit but from what I've heard its gotten better. Though VPS' are harder to manage it gets easy after a bit of using it.

I'd go with a VPS, you get much better performance per dollar and typically better reliability. Just make sure to pay attention to the hardware specs of the VPS node, it will greatly effect performance.

I'd choose PebbleHost over anything but I will say they could definitely improve on the support they provide

I have experience in using both of these hosts.

Anvilnode - overall had a good experience with them, in course of 12-18 months had only one significant issue with the server but they handled it well and despite the issue at the end I was still satisfied with the outcome. Was using Gold plan. Server performance was good.

Pebble host - so far haven't had any major issues but their support is not the best... helpers on discord are fairly active and helpful but the upper staff there is not as good...they fix the issues in somewhat timely manner but under pressure can be impatient and not very polite. (apologies but it's my honest opinion). One thing to note, recently they changed billing cycle and you now must pay quarterly. Also I have noticed some lag spikes from time to time when working with WE but it might just be me. (budget plan)

Conclusion: if you have a playerbase and can afford I would stay with Anvilnode but if you are just starting out and you are on a tight budget you could test Pebble for 3 months and see how it will do...

There are other hosts than the two, not that either of those are bad.
If you're stuck between those two, I recommend Aquatis or VecServers

However, if you're really looking into a good host, go with Enteron.World

Was about to go with aquatis. I will look at vec too. With enteron, it shows url now found when you click one of the GB plans

I used Anvil since they had a 50% and a 70% off deal, but $22 is a month is a lot in my opinion for shared hosting. I have heard good and bad with pebble, but I lost a bit of my small player base with ClynexHosting being down for 1 week. I will probably try a different host.

So basically looking at Aquatis, VecServers, and Clovux atm. And I am looking for mainly a relatively cheap price $2/GB or less with high quality hardware and overall good reviews. Shared, vps, or dedicated not really necessary but if I can get less for a shared, that’s most likely my route.

Focus.

Full Disclosure - Enteron is a meme, don't host with them. <3[DOUBLEPOST=1530032237][/DOUBLEPOST]Aquatis and Vecs are not memes, consider them.
