Hey guys. So, I've been playing the game for around 10 years, I have played and staffed on many servers over the years. I've always wanted to get into the ownership side, seems fun and potentially extremely profitable. I'm thinking of purchasing a Survival server now that I have a steady income, and that's what I've always enjoyed to play for the most part.

I just want to know that if I were to invest 1-2k on advertising, if I had a unique, simple and fun Survival server if I could gain a steady player base and potentially make 10-20k+?

The short answer is yes. This question gets asked every week, and yeah you can make profits but starting a server with no prior experience on your own is not the way to go imo.

This question gets asked all the time, and my answer has always been the same. If you can bring something new to the table and have a solid marketing plan, then you will be set for success. In 2019, people thought that Minecraft was dying. It wasn't, and those who took the opportunity took advantage of it. In the last two years, SMP has made a massive resurgence. We may see more classic concepts see a rebirth. Seeing how much the game has advanced, older ideas like Hypixel's Herobrine Mansion or Qmagnet's Diversity series may see a resurgence. I know the mapmaker community is still healthy, but maps haven't gotten the same views as they did all those years ago. Imagine somebody created a modern version of Herobrine Mansion designed with new game mechanics and multiplayer features.

the beginning is always hard, as an owner you spend a lot, but if you're resourceful and know how to maintain a community, it will be profitable

only investing 1-2k wouldnt get 10-20k+ otherwise everybody would be doing it. Being unique is still possible look at Mineclub and stuff.
