Heya,

I suggested the resource section of this suggestion a while back to Bebos in private conversation; however, I'll repeat it now, to the community as well as our new administration.

Resources by banned members are deleted when found by resource moderators.
This is a poor system, and should simply be automated, since the criteria is so obvious, in order to improve consistency in our resources, and avoid having to look back constantly, or rely on user reports to get these removed in a decent time frame.

A schedule should be made which will go through all of the resources of each user who has been banned for; let's say two weeks, and delete them.
This gives users who's accounts have been compromised a chance to get access to their account back before their resources get removed and they have to contact a resource mod to restore them.

As I said, we already remove resources by banned members manually; but in case it's not obvious as to why, it's because downloaders cannot receive product support from them via our website anymore, and since our resources serve only as a platform for other people's business, we cannot 'take the reigns'. Therefore, for our active users' safety, the resources are removed.

Reputation by banned members should also be removed.
Reputation is supposed to be a representation of the community's attitude towards a certain member.
Banned members are no longer any part of our community; and are often removed because of an issue with their attitude.
Clearing the reputation they've given from our community's profiles will result in a more accurate gauge of our current community's feelings towards a certain member; and limit abuse by alts and butt-buddy rep gangs on other members.

Thanks for your time and consideration; happy holidays.

I agree with the reputation system,

A kid got salty and gave me bad reputation when we never made a deal. He's banned now and took forever to get it deleted. This must be added.
What about vouches from banned users?

I wonder if there would be a way to Hide them instead of delete them. That way if [Person] was to be unbanned. The ratings would be back on. But if its from a banned user its not visible.

There is no way to do this automatically, do you think that it is worth us making all of this work for moderators to manually remove all reputation from banned members?

It's okay it's a bad idea anyways, people could get false banned temporarily and boom all their shit is gone

That's really a shame.
Still, the least we can do is offer to allow members to report reputation by members who've been banned for, say a month.
The same amount of time it takes to be able to gain access to the reputation system.
This would allow banned members sufficient time to appeal their ban and have it be decided that the ban was justified and will remain before the reputation they've left is slowly removed.

Also, about the resources?

Maybe instead of deleting the resource just hide it? make in invisible from the community. If he gets unbanned it should be shown again.

Yeah, there's no way of automatically removing resources of banned users that I know of either.

I personally see this as a bad idea. Why you may ask? Well let me go on and explain.

Exhibit A [Reputation]: So you have a reputation by a banned member. That reputation does NOT reflect upon the actions of that user, but rather your own. If I provided a service for someone, everything went through with no hassle and no conflict. They are obviously going to give me a rather positive reputation. So they get banned 6 months down the road and I suffer one less positive reputation because of a mistake they made? I earned that positive reputation and everyone here will feel more or less the same way. Though if they are someone that gave many negative vouches and only a few positive vouches to say their "homies". Then that is obviously more than conclusive that it should be removed. I stand AGAINST reputations being removed unless done so in the right manner and on the right user.

Exhibit B [Resources]: So you have the resource of a user that was banned. That resource once again does NOT reflect upon the actions taken by that person. Some people genuinely provide GREAT resources that dont need to be updated. Hell when was the last time some of the most ACTIVELY used public plugins were updated. Some have been months if not years! If people start complaining that the specific resource is no longer working, there are multiple bugs, and/or consists of useless content, then by all means remove it. Though isnt that the same grounds for a regular, non banned member as well? I am AGAINST resources being removed as well.

Overall thought: All of these are simply things that should NOT be done automatically and only to very few, certain users. The majority I can say will concur. Good topic, but this for sure wont pass.
I guess we would have to go with this, however I definitely don't like the idea that a banned member could still be making money off of their paid resource.

Then wouldn't it only make sense to only remove prenium resources by banned members? When people purchase a resource, and it doesn't work, they would ask the creator of the resource for support. But in this case he is banned, and you just wasted your money. Supporting my idea even more.
Free resources can stay there, though.

Just imagine how many angry 12 years old there will be trying to get ahold of the banned user, considering the banned users won't be able to help/update the resources. I just feel it's a messy idea.
You know, you can simply "review" the resource.

Why even have banned users resources on the forum?
did you see the post by Vice? some banned members produced really quality things that a lot of people use, deleting that because they are banned would be a shame. If it gets problems with lack of updates, sure, delete it, but apart from that don't.
The only conundrum I see is about where the money for those resources goes

This is simply catering to the banned users, which isn't what mcm should be about. It's as simple as this, don't get banned. Implementing this would not be beneficial in any way.[DOUBLEPOST=1488129453][/DOUBLEPOST]
But the user is banned, so they could care less how there post is doing on a forum there banner on.
its not about the banned user. Its about the people making use of the banned user's resource. If their resource is something that can do without updates and is useful to the community, I see no reason to delete it. The only thing I'm wondering is what to do about it continuing to send them money, which I feel is not something that should happen. but just forcing it to be free is kinda sucky for those who bought it, since it suddenly became devalued.
etc etc.
Aka useful resources should stay even if their creator is banned, but they should not benefit from it.
