Why not have a section where banned users can fill out a form and staff can take a look at their appeals.

The only appeals that shouldn't ever be allowed is scamming. Everything else, "shitposting, advertisement, request bans, etc" should be allowed for an appeal in my opinion.

Also what's the bad side about this? If you don't want the user to come back, then just reject their appeal, it's not hard.

The main reason I'm suggesting this because everyone shouldn't have a grudge held towards them, they could change. Anyways, that's just my opinion on it, of course the process for an appeal is hard, but at least they're is a chance to appeal.

(Plus side: you get more of the community back with a second chance).
(Negative side: they come back, break more rules. Ok.. that just shows that they should never come back after that one appeal?)

Examples:
Shitposter: They posted stupid crap to increase the comments. They come back and they have two ways to go:
Good: Stop shit posting, you're just gonna get banned again if you do.
Bad: They shit post, ok well mods can easily delete the comments.

Advertisement: They advertised a competitor.
Good: They won't do it again?
Bad: Ok if they do it again, well Ajdin you're already giving hints of a competitor that rhymes with "fart". So if they do it again, just ban them and never give them the third chance.

Ban Appeal: They got mad at something, they just needed a break, what ever.
Good: They just come back to the community!
Bad: ??? I don't know, they just requested a ban.

And let's be honest here, "we" ( as the community ) has given MC-Market many chances, why not give the users who were banned a chance.

Also two solutions, (I requested this when I was admin, the idea was turned rejected)
A: To appeal, email [email protected]
B: Allow the banned users to see a specific form where they fill it out. (Better idea for B since staff can easily access this.)

Last thing, if this idea was rejected and basically (a majority) of the community agreed. Ajdin you're not doing what you said in your post. You're doing what the community wants in a reasonable sense. This is a reasonable sense, everyone deserves a second chance, just like you got.

I could agree with this in certain degrees. Great idea to never accept scammers back in. +1

Great idea. +1 Also if it would be possible to make an area where only staff and banned users can see and post and normal users do not have access to see it.

You can create an appeal through a Support Request.

I was going to suggest something like this for the people that advertised MCM Competitors for a few reasons..
#1 Some sites have just died and they are homeless
#2 They advertised because they didn't want to go to hell with MCM with Mick as owner

www.mcforums.org leads here now. About 10 known peeople was banned for advertising because they just don't like the stuff that happened in January or some other reasons.

http://www.mc-market.org/support/support-request/
It's not even loading for me, also should probably make it "noob friendly" and just create a "ban appeal" section specifically for it. If this was always there, I would see a lot of people back by now.
Works perfectly fine for me.

I don't think it's that hard to create an Appeal.

I don't know about you, but I like all these type of items under one section for us to browse through as Staff. If anything, the speed of responses has gradually improved.

It was still against the rules, just because there's a change now doesn't make a difference.

The rules were posted publicly, they broke it - They live the punishment.

So you're telling me, if they still broke the rule, they can't appeal.

No, feel free to appeal.

I don't expect them to be Unbanned automatically though.

So if someone advertised, shitposted, etc, what's the chances of them getting unbanned.
There are other factors.
When they were Banned, how long have they been Banned, Reason, Do they hold a valid reason to be Unbanned?

I don't know about this Suggestion.
But we already have an area to create an Appeal. The email option might be worth asking for.

Good Luck.

Advertising a competitor forums.
They just want to use the site? Why else would they want to be unban.

You may get warned for shit posting, and even if you still didn't keep following the rules after multiple warnings, you may be banned for 2-3 days. (not even worth appealing for) I doubt you would be permanently banned.

You sir do not know crap I'm assuming.

There is a ban that could be triggered after a certain amount of warnings and the reason would be "Rules of violation".

So last I remember, after 30 warnings, you get perm banned. This could be because of shit posting, dumb comments, whatever warnings you got warned for.

The warning system was extremely broken when nara~kavi was banned, but yes. Shit posting can get you banned from 2-3 months or even perm.

So you are saying that after a user gets 30 'wrongfully earned' warnings and gets auto banned, and then he can appeal for that?

You sir do not know crap on what you are suggesting.
If something is wrong with the warning system which is wrongfully banning members suggest on that to be fixed. You clearly don't know anything about how support here on mc-market works, or anything about the ticket system which already allows users to make ban appeals.

Some scammers didn't really scam. A false scam should be appealable
