Ban Server Investments

Yes, the server investments section is a big part of this forum -- sadly. Investments and loans on this forum should only be for non-mc server related things, mainly for the following reasons:

1. A large portion of the threads are people looking to exit scam; they will provide a few small updates to make it seem like stuff is getting done, and then they will go missing/get banned for scamming. Examples of this being done: MineNight, RougeBit.

2. Nearly every server that comes far, ultimately fails. Examples: BTDMC, MineWrath, HyruleMc, MineVenture.

3. The server ideas are not unique. With the exception of maybe 1-3, all of the server ideas are very basic, or just another way to describe an RPG Factions server. With these servers being very generic, it makes it harder for these servers to succeed.

Sorry but most servers wouldnt be possible without investments, It wont happen

Maybe people should actually spend their own money on a server. Doing so also makes people want to succeed more.

Too many people rely on 'investments' for their servers to be accomplished. I have seen many people hop around server ideas trying to create a new server every 2 months.

They're a lot of non scammers and people with unique mind sets that can make the server strive with the investments it makes. Some fail because they either don't know what they're doing or simply lazy. I think it's best to keep investments it's still a nice thing to add.

The ONLY truly unique server ideas that came out of the investment section were CraftOfClans, and BTDMC. The rest are simply RPG Factions, or another type of generic server.

And no, your server is not custom because you use 'clans' instead of factions; they are virtually the same thing.

Wouldn't a much more simple solution be that investments must be moderated or at least have some sort of standards?

They do have some requirements for posting there, I doubt they would moderate the category when they are already understaffed for the full forum.

Scam reports don't cover investments, and there isn't a guarantee you will get it back. If you think you won't get your money back, simply don't invest.

Heres the thing, If you invest in a server; You already know that its an investment, not a loan. You may not get your investment back, the server could fail and you could lose your money just because theres some scamming kids on this forum doesnt mean everyone that relys on investments is a scammer. I think it should be like selling OG's - Must have premium to request an investment, However you shouldnt have to be premium to invest in someone elses server.

Investments are at your own risk, it's pretty much you're fault if the server doesn't succeed.

That is all your opinion on what's unique and what's not. A lot of others such as children who play on servers. Might think it's unique / cool.

Can I have some examples of servers actually going through on time, and people getting their ROI on time?

As far as I am concerned, it has never happened. That is the main reason server investments need to be removed.

I would not know because I don't invest in servers as it is my own risk. And simply don't update myself In that section.
