Ban Server Investments

Yes, the server investments section is a big part of this forum -- sadly. Investments and loans on this forum should only be for non-mc server related things, mainly for the following reasons:

1. A large portion of the threads are people looking to exit scam; they will provide a few small updates to make it seem like stuff is getting done, and then they will go missing/get banned for scamming. Examples of this being done: MineNight, RougeBit.

2. Nearly every server that comes far, ultimately fails. Examples: BTDMC, MineWrath, HyruleMc, MineVenture.

3. The server ideas are not unique. With the exception of maybe 1-3, all of the server ideas are very basic, or just another way to describe an RPG Factions server. With these servers being very generic, it makes it harder for these servers to succeed.

I disagree with removing that section of the forums.
Many servers needed to start up somewhere, sometimes Mineplex even asks for help,
you just have to watch out for those sort of things. Try and sign an online contract, and
if they scam you, you could chargeback on PayPal with proof, or take it to legal action.
The investments section is kind of sketchy, but I do agree with it needing to be monitored a little bit more.

Mineplex asks for investments? Highly doubtful.

Again, server investments never go through and that is why they need to be removed.

I don't see why we should forbid an entire section of the forums just because it rarely results in profit. People are made aware that they are investing at their own risk, and that there is no guarantee they'll get their money back.
There's already a member requirement to be able to enter that section of the forums.
I could approve of required moderation, but it has as a problem we'd need another mod, and that's still some distance off (basically until a chatmod is fit for promotion).

And yes, this forum is mainly for minecraft. Guess what sort of servers can be found in the investment section? yep. Minecraft servers

Mango If you disagree with my post, can you at least give me an example of where a server started on time and ROI was given to investors on time?

I literally just told you one.
I had a server named MangoCraft, I needed $20.00, 3 people lent me money, I paid them back 30% ROI within 2 months.
And I did pay them back, and they confirmed it.

Well that is a tiny tiny amount, and a long ROI.

I guess that counts, but for the majority of the servers -- requesting hundreds if not thousands, it SUPER SUPER rarely happens.

As I said, the forum needs to ban SERVER INVESTMENTS.

That is a loan, extremely tiny, and not minecraft server related.
