There are too many of them with no purpose , i don't think anyone in his sane mind would go with a service team , which would require joining their discord creating a ticket waiting for a quote paying the owner and then waiting to get the project done

Plus i dont like people getting money off nothing

I agree with Ivain above, there are hundreds of poorly run teams out there, what are just annoying. There should be a rule where you have to be verified in some sort of way to run a service team and provide services with it on mcm.

Mamma mia, here we go again!
This thread is missing the context needed for an effective discussion, so lets get some context down.

Context
Service teams exist as a consequence of the shortcomings of MC-Market's system for finding freelancers. In general,
if someone can find the symbol for "in general" that would be great by the way, I know exists I just do not have the faintest idea of where
the process for working with a freelancer not associated with a team goes as follows:
Visit the service section for the service I need right now, for this example, graphic design, go through a few pages of threads offering service to find the ten or so freelancers that match the ratio of quality, timeliness, and reputability I want. Go through their portfolios to make sure what they show on their threads matches their actual quality, add all of them on Discord because MCM doesn't have an app and it's not worth the effort to try and do it through the mobile site, find out who is available to take my commission, discuss the details of what I want with them, and then and only then can the deal really start.
That is a pain. I hated having to do that every time I wanted something done, so I started a service team.
Now, the process goes, I go to the reputable service team of my choice, join their discord, make a ticket, go through their order wizard or talk to a sales representative about what I want, and then a reputable, quality assured freelancer will join my ticket, he already knows what I want, so I just pay and we start.

The whole trying to find the right person, doing a background check and narrowing down my list to the one person who can actually do it is done for me, and I can skip over the minutiae that needs to be done and get to my original goal.

Service teams don't exist with no purpose, they exist to fix a problem. Banning service teams would be kneecapping the free markets way of solving problems brought by the platform.

Why would you want to ban them? If you aren’t happy with their structure, the services offer, or how they run, either:

  • Don’t work for them
  • Don’t use their services
You don’t have to ban them, just don’t use them, and if enough people aren’t happy, they’ll die on their own - if people are happy and want to keep using their services or working for them, then they’ll survive. The freer the market, the freer the people.

I understand the frustration since I have never had a good experience with service teams through the years here but thats why you need to look out for yourself and look into the team to make sure you're not joining a poorly run group that just wants money off other people's backs with little effort on their part.
Banning them really wouldn't be a solution, if you dont use a team that clearly looks like a mess then they'll eventually fizzle out from lack of business.

Yea I think there should be a requirement. I joined a team a few days ago and just found out that they entirely copied MelleJunior 's company's thread and discord. Seriously, people who try do to this kind of stuff shouldn't be allowed to start a service team

Hello, make sure to join our discord and we can make sure to order off our service a copy of another service-teams discord!
Click here to join our discord and be mislead!

EDIT: It's just a joke, I own a service-team personally :p

Let me start off saying; Chearful said it best. He brought up valid points that need to be seriously addressed. They're not being held to a standard of quality on forums, and just trash 91% of threads. 9% of the time they're genuine replies.

- Remove copy and pasta sales ads.
- Set a minimum standard required for thread posts; services offered and their price ranges, who their leads are *so you know you're working with the people who are running & managing the team.

They're a needed part of the community to help smaller developers grow and get a foothold into the skill they're trying to sell. It's a learning process. Banning service teams would be as mundane to remove development agencies from the world, or Indian development firms. That'll never happen.

They're a needed "evil". I don't like um, I'll work for them if they're hiring me, but I will not join the team as a developer. This being said they do help the bigger developers not deal with the small jobs. By simply absorbing them as they offer "affordable" services.

Honestly
: if you have a problem with service teams. You don't gotta use um. If you're mad because they're taking your clients, make your work better than the tier they get from a service team. Or find a different client base.

Thanks,
