Well tonight has definitely been..... Interesting. My suggestion is a fairly simple one, if a user asks to be banned off Mc-Market, just ban them as they please. See, when a person gives up faith in McM they often tend to desire banishment. However, simply asking won't do anything. What happens next is what we need to prevent. Most these users will then resort to breaking a rule to get banned. Usually in the form of an exit scam, but any rule can be broken. I feel it is out duty as a community to prevent any potential scams/breaking of the rules.

banning is better than a scam

What if someone jacks your account and then makes a thread asking to be banned. Now you're banned because you asked for it.
That's pretty simple, if someone asks to be banned there can be inspections beforehand to ensure they haven't been compromised. In this case checking the said users IP would do the trick.

This would be a good thing to add to MCM

Corey never asked to be banned.

I basically pm'd him with the the chatformat asking if he scammed. He said something along the lines of, if you think I scammed, ban me.. I won't last long anyways. But since we don't ban on assumptions...

His intent was to create exit drama.

As for the suggestion, a lot of people are going to request these perma bans and a majority will come back and request to be unbanned. It's just a fact.

Well something could be done to ensure they can't be unbanned because they changed their mind, or something else.

I see you as a very helpful member.
So let's say you request a ban because your grades are bad at school for example.

You pick up on your grades and you want to come back but that isn't possible. So you'll try to ban evade. This will automatically make you a rule breaker but you're only doing it since you have no option.

I want users to remain on my site.

Partially agree.

In my opinion - we shouldn't ban users. Possibly add an option for someone to deactivate their account. Essentially hides their profile and such. But it'd be too tedious to implement I think.

Yes, it's nice to try and keep members around I agree, but you won't be saying that when they start breaking rules or worse, exit scam. It's honestly a precautionary measure more than anything.

I find it odd that I can only give you an agree or disagree reaction.

Why would you need to be banned in the first place, if you need to get of McM, then just do it. If you don't have the self control to regulate your time on a website for buying/selling things for a block game. Then you have issues that should probably be sorted out.

I see what BeBosny's saying but generally speaking most people that asked to be permanently banned are people that will just scam to be banned if it doesn't happen. I've seen this happen a number of times on the site.

If somebody wants to be banned, then just ban them.

If somebody wants to be banned for school purposes or something then just ban them for a few months or something.

Not banning people like this just leads them to exit scamming.

It's simple, just don't allow these people who request bans to come back. All you have to say is "too bad." People who are banned for other reasons aren't allowed to just come back because they feel like it, I don't see why it'd be different for people who request bans.

The argument of them coming back as alts and asking to be unbanned is already happening with those who broke rules to get banned. These users get banned for exit scamming, feel sorry a week later, then make an alt to apologize and ask to be unbanned. I don't see why we couldn't handle this the way we handle those people.
