Well tonight has definitely been..... Interesting. My suggestion is a fairly simple one, if a user asks to be banned off Mc-Market, just ban them as they please. See, when a person gives up faith in McM they often tend to desire banishment. However, simply asking won't do anything. What happens next is what we need to prevent. Most these users will then resort to breaking a rule to get banned. Usually in the form of an exit scam, but any rule can be broken. I feel it is out duty as a community to prevent any potential scams/breaking of the rules.

The question is basically "Would you rather have temp-banned users with a good reason or users who break the rules or by exit-scamming in order to get banned?" Yea, I rather have temp-banned users than users who scammed in order to get banned. One, it reduces the likelihood of exit-scamming for users. Two- prevents victims from being scammed by a user. Three- Allows the temp-banned user to be focusing on other stuff in life.

Personally I think the whole "please ban me for a couple hours so I can do my homework" thing is ridiculous and childish. People who do that need to learn basic self control. It's an overall time waster for staff, it can harm the person's reputation, and it makes the site seem unprofessional when the banlist is filled with people being temp banned so they can "do homework." But, we need to accept that this site is filled with children who act this way and we need to accommodate for it. If it's easy to implement, a self "time-out" sort of system would be nice; something where users can block themselves from accessing the site for a predetermined period of time. If this isn't possible or easy to implement though, staff should just ban people who ask for bans. If it becomes a reoccurring problem and a habit, the person constantly asking for bans should be permed, because they waste staff's time and are nothing but a nuisance.

Also, I'm sure there are tons of Chrome/Firefox addons that can do this for you. All it takes is a simple Google search. Here's one I just found: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stayfocusd/laankejkbhbdhmipfmgcngdelahlfoji?hl=en. Again, if someone really has absolutely not even the slightest bit of self-control to the point that they physically can't prevent themselves from clicking a webpage, they should download an addon like this instead of requesting a ban, but there's always going to be these types of people on the site and that's just something staff is going to have to deal with.

Not only do a lot of users have no self control, but they obviously are making irrational decisions and allowing their emotions to cloud their better judgement. These irrational decisions start with "plz ban me" to "just scammed $100 ez"

I'm honestly very shocked at these replies. It's crazy that someone actually needs to be blocked or banned from the website to stop themselves from actually coming on. I personally think this should be allowed but only for permanent bans and on very rare occasions. Staff should also give a very broad warning explaining how they will not be able to access their account or ask to be unbanned ever.

I agree. I wasn't trying to disagree with your thread, I fully support the idea. I was more commenting on Bosny's point. The people I see asking for bans so they can do homework always ask for temporary bans anyway. The ones who ask for perms because they're sick of the site or staff are the ones who cause the real problems, and there's absolutely no reason at all to ban those kinds of people. A good example of someone like that was ATV/Michael. He asked for a ban multiple times because he was quitting and then when he didn't get what he wanted he exit scammed.
