So apparently banned members can now be viewed (thanks!). Example.

However, comments like these are unwarranted and disrespectful, irrespective of why the member was banned. Not to mention that the member who is banned has no control over these posts. (Slander is very much a thing even if they are banned.)

In a suggestion, I proposed that banned members' profiles should be unable to be written on (equivalent to this option). I'd just like to put that suggestion forward again as a separate thread. I don't know if this feature is still WIP, or by whom it's being developed, but it'd be nice to represent the issue here.

Thanks.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I don’t see the point in this, they are banned who cares, it’s not like they are going to see the comment lol
How about principally/ethically?

Principle of ethically? Towards a banned member?.

If the comments violates the community guidelines then remove them.

Victims should have the ability to condemn the actions of the member on a viewable platform and input from community.

Some bad apples don't dictate the tree.

What the heck lol, the member's banned, what the hell can you do to them more that won't violate the rules yourself?
Principle of ethically? Towards a banned member?.
Yes. Not all banned people are banned for being completely unethical.

Is there a law that people are not allowed to talk about someone in prison?
1. MCM != Prison.
2. How about the shitshow that'll become banned members' profiles in the future? Written, not spoken.

Why does it matter? Both people are not allowed to talk to those that are speaking bad about them so I don't see the need for us to not be able to talk on their profile. We just got access to see the profile take the win.
However, comments like these are unwarranted and disrespectful, irrespective of why the member was banned.
Because of this, in particular.

In the thread that it was suggested to make banned profiles public, the goal of making them public was not so people could make comments on the profile. The majority if not all the comments on a profile after the user is banned will not be helpful to anyone, it’ll mostly be unneeded/toxic. Toxicity shouldn’t be present anywhere on the forum and these banned profiles are the easiest places for people to do it because the user is banned and won’t be able to counter.
Louwtjie even you said in the initial suggestion that the posting of comments on these profiles should be disabled.

it's better for toxic members to take out their frustration on people who won't see it than for them to spend their time messing with active members

It's better for toxic members to not be toxic altogether, actually.

you can't stop the toxicity, though, so it's best to put it somewhere where it has the least effect

Toxicity shouldn’t be allowed anywhere on this forum. People who are truly toxic will not stop at just posting a few times on some profiles. If it happens on the profile, that toxicity will generally spread to other parts of the forum. I don’t believe having a place to be toxic will solve the problem of toxicity, I think it’ll make it worse.

The example you displayed was pretty bad to be honest, I wouldn't even refer to that as toxic. But we can see where it could easily lead if messages were left allowed to be posted. At the end of the day, they are banned, they cannot/will not see the posts. It's essentially useless to care about it.

it's not for being toxic, necessarily. However, removing comments there will A. let toxic people have more time to be toxic elsewhere, where it has more effect (even if they only spend a few minutes on banned profiles) and B. prevent anyone from discussing about the banned member (or something unrelated that happened to be on a banned profile).

Those few minutes generally mean nothing. Toxicity promotes more toxicity. People will go on these profiles to help prevent getting scammed or just to see what they did. They don’t need to be greeted with a bunch of toxic messages flushing out any more useful profile posts.
