So apparently banned members can now be viewed (thanks!). Example.

However, comments like these are unwarranted and disrespectful, irrespective of why the member was banned. Not to mention that the member who is banned has no control over these posts. (Slander is very much a thing even if they are banned.)

In a suggestion, I proposed that banned members' profiles should be unable to be written on (equivalent to this option). I'd just like to put that suggestion forward again as a separate thread. I don't know if this feature is still WIP, or by whom it's being developed, but it'd be nice to represent the issue here.

Thanks.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Those few minutes generally mean nothing. Toxicity promotes more toxicity. People will go on these profiles to help prevent getting scammed or just to see what they did. They don’t need to be greeted with a bunch of toxic messages flushing out any more useful profile posts.
 I personally don't think that disabling banned members profiles from being posted on will help with anything. The benefits outweigh the negative aspects, at least for me.

There is absolutely no benefit at all.

Having the ability to participate in discussions that originated on the banned members profile without having to copy paste everything into a conversation would be one example.

The example you displayed was pretty bad to be honest, I wouldn't even refer to that as toxic. But we can see where it could easily lead if messages were left allowed to be posted. At the end of the day, they are banned, they cannot/will not see the posts. It's essentially useless to care about it.
Thanks for pointing out a minor detail, and I never said it was toxic. In fact, what I said was:
However, comments like these are unwarranted and disrespectful
It's not necessarily about the banned members, either.[DOUBLEPOST=1556240182][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you're using a member's profile for a conversation that excludes them as a result of them being banned, then you need to rethink where you have your conversations.

I mean I don’t understand why someone would be spiteful enough to even comment on a banned members page. You’re real tough to talk behind someone’s back. Anywho, there shouldn’t be any toxicity on Mc-Market and if this can potentially help alleviate some of that toxic behavior than by all means implement this.

This suggestion is literally called "Banned members' profiles", I was literally pointing out a few things and clearly took it to heart. You're really going out of your way to protect a banned member after someone simply said "You deserve to be banned". Wow that is massively unwarrented and he should be punished for doing it!!! They are banned members, they are scum, they can take a few comments, as long as they abide by the rules.

I'm going out of my way to protect a banned member? I literally couldn't care less about them. If you want to interpret it that way, and use examples absolutely, then that's your problem, not mine.

I could call a lot of members on this forum the same. Irrespective of what they've done, the profiles should still be unable to be posted on.

It is in a way defending banned members whether you care about it or not, everything has it's side effects you know

Personally, I would agree to this as they're inactive or unused accounts really as they can't access them, but I feel it's important to keep them open for the reason being just because they're banned on here doesn't mean they haven't stopped scamming

The one benefit to having banned members profiles open to post on is for people to put information such as their current discords or whatever, or say what they've scammed to prevent them from dealing with people offsite, as previously, if they were banned and only one case, they may still deal with the user without realising that they may have scammed dozens of others which haven't been able to voice their scam.

This allows them to voice their scam, as some people may now go and check banned members accounts for newer posts about what they've been doing, thus preventing more scams in theory.

That is a very good point.
However, it is very much in theory.
From what I’ve seen, the type of comments most prevalent would be the ones that are toxic in nature.
I don’t know if people will really have more information to give in the future because once banned they don’t always keep using that alias and it’s hard to confirm it is them.

I agree.

I'll move this to pending, thanks for the suggestion.
