i was wondering why everyone says Elapsed is better, if someone wouldn’t mind giving the pros and cons of beer and why Elapsed is better.
This is what I am talking about. Post it for everyone to see, why are you PM'ing people that may have no knowledge on what's really going on? To me, it looks like you're showing biased results as you're afraid to take criticism from the public, but are willing to show it to people individually and convince them what you're saying is right. I've said this numerous times too, it's not like the first time I'm commenting about this behavior. Can gladly show you both of them, just pm me.
AFAIK BeerSpigot claims to have all the features you just mentioned iElapsedSpigot has as a pro contrary to BeerSpigot. The license flaw is quite a big one, however when comparing raw price-to-performance, what does your spigot bring to the table that beerspigot doesn't? (The cannons thing seems to be outdated if they didn't work months ago, you sure it wasn't a one-time thing with a broken build that then got patched?)You ask this *after* rating the ElapsedSpigot thread funny
BeerSpigot:
- Was alleged to have broken cannoning, which was put to the test a few months ago and was proven to be true. Whether they still do or not, I can't tell you.
- Takes ideas from ElapsedSpigot. Can show proof of this if Diz or Beer try denying it.
- "Lies" about which servers use BeerSpigot. In their title, they have "Used by", implying "Is used by". If you ask them to explicate, the will claim it implies "Was used by", because those servers don't use BeerSpigot anymore, they saw how shit it was. (i.e. MineSaga)
- License system was hacked, yet Beer or Diz (he was never even told by Beer) never spoke about it. It affected (and still may affect) all users running BeerSpigot.
- Re-uses the same code, making different spigots to get you to buy the next one, as the current one stops bringing in money, so you'd get no real useful updates, only their latest spigot that will get them money will have updates.
- Failed at skidding ElapsedSpigot when they couldn't find anything when it was decompiled, was quite funny. Can show proof of this if Diz or Beer try denying this too.
- Beer (not Diz), lies about his competition, regardless of whether it's me or not, to keep his fanbase from switching over to other products. He does this in his discord(s), so we do not have a platform to defend ourselves.
ElapsedSpigot:
- Cannons work.
- Entities don't lag the server.
- Hoppers don't lag the server.
- Spawners don't lag the server.
- Redstone doesn't lag the server.

By the way, this is only the beginning of the list. I could go on and on.
What they claim to have and what they actually have are two completely different things, my friend. What I listed is what we have that they actually don't. It wasn't a one time thing either, it was a recurring issue Beer always avoided by claiming it was a "plugin issue", lmfao.AFAIK BeerSpigot claims to have all the features you just mentioned iElapsedSpigot has as a pro contrary to BeerSpigot. Thank you for clarifying. I think it'd be wise to tag Beer in this case to see if they have anything to say to back up their spigot. What they claim to have and what they actually have are two completely different things, my friend. Good luck with that, he'll probably say 1-2 things here and then go on a rant in his discord to try to defame me, lmfao. Here's the ElapsedSpigot configuration by the way:Thank you for clarifying. Would you mind dming me on disocrd? I’m interested in ElapsedWhat they claim to have and what they actually have are two completely different things, my friend. You mean your way? I think this is the first time I've publicly talked shit about Beer like this, but Beer loves to talk about ElapsedSpigot, that's all that is on his mind. I guess that's one way of avoiding responding to the claims made against you.Find it funny you have so much to say about beerspigot but only a few things to say about your own jar. Seems to me like your way of selling a product is trying to convince people another product is bad instead of convincing them that yours is actually good.
LST#1667Elapsed is definitely on my mind as I have a budget and it is more quality.[DOUBLEPOST=1564419999][/DOUBLEPOST]

I answered in all honesty. A jar is usually nothing more than optimizations, so a jar having broken cannoning or not is all that really matters when it comes down to it.He asked for the god dang pros and cons, not for you to go out roasting beer, for god sakes, can't a person just ask pros and cons without the independent freaking owners having to go off and flame eachother, for god sakes, just TELL HIM THE PROS AND CONS HONESTLY.
We don't "randomly" throw around the word "async", we use it when it describes what is implemented, which iirc is only used once in our thread. Both jars have their pros and cons (Beer's jars have very good optimizations but there aren't as many as elapsed; elapsed has a bunch of optimizations but they don't seem to be as well implemented as Beer's are). Unfortunately, no matter what jar you buy from MCM, the chance is that it will not magically solve your performance problems. Most publicly sold jars are basically snake oil—they throw around the word 'async' and include useless or poorly-made optimizations to try to justify a $100 or $250 price tag.
With this being said, obviously there's a difference in market between the servers these public jars cater to and the developers who make thousands of dollars off of making custom jars for large networks. With that being said, I think it is better to have a jar that has quality optimizations (I can't vouch for elapsed since I don't know the creators but I know for a fact that Beer spends a ton of time making sure every optimization he adds is perfect) over a jar that crams a ton of 'optimizations' (some of which don't work very well) and throws around the word 'async' to try to get sales.
Disclaimer: If you're accusing me of bias, my opinion is based on what I have seen with the main network I develop for (I'm not comparing elapsed to what we run on thearcade, just to plain old beerspigot). We've tried beerspigot, elapsedspigot, custom solutions, etc. What we've found is that beerspigot has helped us maintain better overall performance (as far as memory usage and TPS), while elapsedspigot has provided more consistent cannoning at the expense of horrible tile lag (hoppers) and random TPS spikes that didn't exist while using Paper/Taco/Beer.
I cannot add yoU, I have over 1000 friends. FoundYourFlow#4760You mean your way? Firstly, I don't know who you are. Headshot and Auto haven't touched ElapsedSpigot for over half of a year, I am the only developer. Secondly, we don't "randomly" throw around the word "async", we use it when it describes what is implemented, which iirc is only used once in our thread.
Not going to even try hiding it, your accusation about memory usage sounds like complete bs. As for tile entities, ElapsedSpigot can handle well over 30K spawners alone and use up less than 5% of the tick, so it was most likely poorly configured. Also, how did you manage to run ElapsedSpigot? It's not licensed to any of the owners of TheArcade as far as I'm aware of.
However, you are right when you say that pyrchasing a spigot fork will not magically solve yoyr lag issues.
None of us ever stated we ran ElapsedSpigot. We have a client that owns and uses ElapsedSpigot and from what we've seen it has a hard time handling tiles compared to BeerSpigot. You mean your way?
