Hey! As the title suggests, I'm looking for the cheapest, but best place to get a GRE Tunnel with best Ddos protection. I'm thinking of going with Linode however, not sure yet, there ping is a bit high 22ms, The servers are located in Florida North East, looking for it to hide the backend ips, and Ddos prot, without an extravagant price

Hello Pokey,

What type of traffic will you have, that is legitimate? Would help in determining your choice.

Linode is not a good option to go with, as they have a bad protection.

You might consider getting a GRE tunnel from BuyVM, they are certainly cheap.

Best regards.

Minecraft servers mainly, my last VPS got hit hard and it took down the whole server, witherhosting, I then tried using some other local solutions however the ping was terrible, now trying to look for something in Florida, that has decent Ddos prot, but not too big price, cloud flare spectrum is a bit out of my budget

Tunneling from OVH or Path (Likely a reseller) would likely be your best option if you're looking for cheap and to support multiple games.

OVH thought about it, but heard they have internal Ddos Attacks, as per Path.net, I dont know of any decent resellers

Hello Pokey,

You can use BuyVM, they are path resellers and allow tunneling.

As for OVH you could use Advance-2, they have 10gigabit burst and with proper iptables it is totally valid as solution.

Best regards.

Which ip-tables
Hello Pokey,

There are no "specific ones", its kinda a figure it out. Many people are capable of making good iptables.

For OVH I would just disable UDP on the firewall manager and in the server I would enable synproxy and setup an proper ratelimit.

Best regards.
