So what do you guys think would be the best language for someone who knows 0 code to start?

My plan is to make discord bots alongside other things.

And the easiest to learn, btw. [^^^]

the easiest language to lean is Html for my opinion, it's really simple and you can learn it in just a month :) but for my opinion Java is the best language even it's a bit hard to learn.

HTML is a markup language. It is not a programming language. It's harder to write, but easy to read.

It's all about preference. You're asking a Minecraft forum about choice of language - of course people will say Java.

Research languages yourself, which will give you a better understanding about what you're in for.

I will recommend you to start with basic in C/C++ and later switch to other languages like Java and C# cuz they are easier to learn, but if you firstly learn C#/java etc you will struggle with C and C++ that are very matter .

What language to learn all depends on what you want to do. Some languages are better, stronger, and just faster in general then others when it comes to certain things. Honestly if you plan to take programming serious and make a career out of it, don't waste no time and go straight to c++. Everyone will tell you to start with a higher language like c# or java, but in the long run you'll just be delaying real programming. C# and Java are amazing Languages and they have their uses, but c++ is better for long term programming in my opinion. But honestly like I said, it all depends what your looking to do/specialize in.
Really just looking to learn a language that's easy to learn and can make bots so I can make some profit via customers.

Later on, I plan to work fulltime and make a career out of programming.

I'd recommend Python for starting off if you want to do scripts or data analysis. Java and C# are also nice. Oh, and maybe a little Befunge for the bois back in England?

Yep. Started learning Python for bot development, in the long run, when I actually work fulltime as a programmer and need to learn other languages, will be easier.

If this is the case, I say go with C#. You can make bots, and making GUIs is alot easier using visual studio's C# IDE. However paid services often require security right? You'll have a hard time making something paid secure using C# or Java. But still, for bots, go with C# in my opinion.
and video games if you want you can use the Unity game engine amiriteorno

I guessyourrite . But RamRanch please use anything other then Python lmao. Python is literately so useless. Go use java or C# man. That's just my recommendation.
Actually, Python is one of the most requested and most paid jobs on the market right now, if I'm not dumb that is...

Before you and your Croc bud get your panties in a twist it was a exaggerated statement. Sure Python isn't literately useless but there's so many better ways to do things. Just my opinion, maybe I'm retarded. Who cares
i dont know croc personally i just know hes big into python so :p. i dont know anything about programming.

Really hesitant right now, tons of people recommending Javascript, some recommend Python and some recommend C#.

Open to more replies, thanks to everyone as every reply affects my final decision. <3
