Hello there, everyone!
I hope that you're all doing well and are safe during these interesting times. Today we have a handful of new changes to the site, a new community server to keep you busy and a fundraiser!

Beyond Blue Fundraiser

Since 2015 each year we have hosted a fundraiser for charity, allowing for us to band together as a community to raise money for a good cause. This year, we are raising money for Beyond Blue, an Australian charity promoting good mental health. During these times of self-isolation being able to maintain your mental wellbeing is massively important, and so we are very excited to be supporting Beyond Blue who has some excellent resources relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have released an assortment of exclusive name colours and a medal to any user who donates this month. 100% of the money raised from each of these will be sent to Beyond Blue at the end of the month and will never expire. Exclusive to June, we will be releasing:
  • a $25 USD donation will receive a green to blue gradient username colour
  • a $75 USD donation will receive a Beyond Blue medal
  • a $300 USD donation will receive a green to blue to purple gradient colour
To be counted towards our totals and to receive these rewards, donations must be made through either purchasing one of the Beyond Blue Account Upgrades or sending a PM to Mick.
I am personally going to match all green to blue gradient name colour donations made by users and cover all transaction fees. This means that for every 40 people who purchase the colour, I will be contributing $1,000 to the fundraiser.
After a successful trial last year, we are once again returning with a forum dedicated towards users offering and requesting products or services where proceeds go towards our fundraiser! We have released a new Beyond Blue Fundraising forum and would really appreciate it if you could check it out or contribute whatever skills or talents you have to this great cause. If you'd like some inspiration or ideas for what you could offer, check out last year's AbleGamers Fundraising forum.
In our previous fundraiser for AbleGamers we were able to raise $10,507.97 USD and for Beyond Blue I'd love it if we could set our goal to beat this amount raised this month. I'm so proud of the generosity that our community has been able to show and I look forward to seeing how much we're going to be able to raise this month!
Below is a list of some of the frequently asked questions that we have had in previous fundraisers:
Can I pay the $25 but change my colour back?
Yep! If a green to blue gradient isn't your ideal colour then you may swap back to any of the other colours you have purchased in your account preferences!
Can I donate in other ways?
You sure can. If you wish to be super generous and donate even more, please create a support request or PM me and we'll make sure that all the money you send to us goes directly to the cause. Alternatively, check out our Beyond Blue Fundraising forum and buy products or services from there!
Can I gift this to a friend?
You may gift the name colour or medal to anyone, but you are not allowed to use gifts as a form of payment.
What happens to this colour after the 30 days is up?
In 30 days, this fundraiser will be over, so this colour will be removed from being purchasable on the site forever. You will still keep gradient colour and medal, and will be able to pick it forever once you have it.
MC-Market SMP Server

Today we are releasing a brand new community survival multiplayer server which we are very excited about! The server is accessible to all members with at least a Premium rank via play.mc-market.org on 1.15.2. In order to join, you must have your Minecraft account associated with your MC-Market account, which you can do here. Once associated you will be able to log in and all of your account details will be automagically synced across. We have no particular date in mind for when this server will end, but it will stay up for as long as there are people still playing. Other than land-claiming, a shop GUI and a custom rank up system, the server is relatively vanilla without too much fancy functionality, but more can be added later based on your suggestions!
Thank you to Dann and Pebblehost.com for once again sponsoring the hosting for this server, Harry for developing our MCM account syncing plugin, Geek for configuring plugins, and Justis for developing the soon-to-be-implemented AutoEconomy plugin.

Ads Manager Changes

Before today we only had four featured resource advertisement positions available to be purchased throughout the entire resource manager. Due to massive demand, we have now expanded to allow for up to six resources per category to be featured, allowing up to 60 featured resources at a time between our ten categories. Additionally, just like with stickied threads, we have introduced per-category-pricing set to the following:
  • $20/week - Setups
  • $15/week - Plugins, Schematics & Configurations
  • $12/week - Worlds & Graphics
  • $10/week - Skripts, Websites, Bots and Programs & Other
Changes we have made to the prices of sticky threads are as follows:

Staff Changes

It's been a few months since our previous announcement and since then we have had many changes internally to focus on reducing delays for support. Staff changes that we have made include:
Resource Manager Changes

As mentioned above, our resources are seeing a huge change to the way advertisements are being managed. However, there are a couple more changes worth noting.
Since the introduction of business accounts to our website, there have been no restrictions to how they may be used to interact with resources. However, starting today, we will be denying all business accounts the ability to download or purchase resources. It is not uncommon for resource authors to offer licenses for their plugins to the servers that intend to run them, however, plenty of authors prefer to license only to a single person. By allowing business accounts to make purchases up until this point, we’ve denied that choice to our resource authors, providing them no option but to sell their licenses to the businesses that these accounts represent. Today, we’re looking to give that control back and ensure that all transactions are between individuals and individuals only.
There may be some business account owners who are not pleased by this change, and that is understandable. We ask that our resource authors be accommodating in transferring their licenses over to the appropriate personal accounts. Since the alternative to this change would be allowing for the possibility of business account owners giving access to their purchased resources to an indefinite number of business account members, we’re hoping for everyone’s understanding and support. Although, to our knowledge, business accounts had not yet been abused in this manner.
Due to limitations with our current software, we have temporarily disabled the viewing of resources by business accounts. Rest assured, those with resources authored on your business accounts, this is merely a temporary measure. Restrictions will be dialed back to prevent just purchasing and downloading within 48 hours. After which point, the ability to manage your own resources will be restored entirely.
The final change we’ve made to the resource system is an equally precautionary change, but an important one. With the implementation of our resource injector, we had previously been displaying the injected NONCE and FILEHASH values in the tracking page for resource purchases in order to enable resource authors to identify their leakers. These two pieces of information have now been removed in order to eliminate the possibility of resource authors intentionally framing any of their downloaders for a leak by manually entering that information into their product and leaking it themselves. There is no reason to believe that anyone has attempted this as of yet, however, this change will ensure that it cannot happen.
If you are a resource author who has had your product leaked, and you need help identifying the leaker, please create a support ticket with a link to the tracking page as well as the leak. Our staff team will be able to identify the leaker on your behalf and take action.

Other Changes

We have made several more minor adjustments to our forum. We have:
  • Removed Hypixel Skyblock subforum and disallowed all future sales based on the community feedback on this suggestion thread
  • Added Server Showcase subforum to General Discussion
  • Added rule 5.6.1 clarifying that fan signs and other objectionable content are disallowed
  • Thanks for reading this announcement, and please remember to donate to our Beyond Blue fundraiser!

I see the "Premade Builds" sticky price is just going up and up, and now you have added advertisement spots for resources ($100+ a month) in total how much does Builds bring in, ~ $400-$600/month? So where is this money going, what is being done to protect and really support community and the content creators? Nothing! ...nothing that really would make a difference.
At least is the resource injector finally working properly for .schematic files? (and .schem)

The only positive thing appears to be the removal of Hypixel Skyblock subforum but I suspect it was only done because of the pressure from Hypixel? As long as it pays you would have happily kept it, right Mick? (just like mc accounts)
The way the sticky ad prices is adjusted is based on supply and demand, the premade builds constantly has a lot of demand for those spots, there's always the 5 spots filled, and thus the price goes up, just like for any other section.
More spots for featured resources means that people won't have to wait for 1-year plus to get their resource featured, which was the case previously with how it was setup.
The money is going to paying staff, for paying for development and system administration, (Because both of those do happen, even though it might not always be immediately obvious, for hosting, and so on. Making sure that the site is staffed and is up, is supporting the community in my opinion.

And, the removal of the Hypixel skyblock subforum was not because of any pressure from Hypixel, we received none of that. It was because people in the team noticed how the forum was not safe for the community, and when we posted a suggestion thread, it was met with the community agreeing and approving of the removal.

Please also keep in mind, that Mick is matching all the $25 donations to this charity, so I think it's a bit unfair to say Mick is just looking for the money because if he was, he wouldn't be donating that much himself.

Thanks to all of the staff members for all the work you put into this amazing website.

A quick note, the coupons system is still not working yet with resources, I can create coupons but users can not use them when purchasing a resource.

Thank you.

I strongly doubt that the $5 or 10$ would change much about the number of ads in the queue in this particular section just as it has been for the past 2 years… If you really wanted to limit advertisers and not care so much about the money you could have set a time limit/ad rotation as Ivain (I believe) suggested but we don't see that...

I am well aware there are business/website maintenance costs but MCM earns a lot of money (if I have to guess 5-10k?) and what I am stating is, Mick ignores certain essential needs (and security) of MCM community and especially content creators - the things every other serious business would value very much. I have spoken to both Justis and Mick, and I have stated my opinion on what needs to be done. While Justis always has been supportive, Mick as we can see is not so much… That is the exact reason why I have moved away from MCM and most of my work is not available here anymore and MCM has lost me.
I really hope Mick will now at least up the rates he is paying to the staff ...

It was because people in the team noticed how the forum was not safe for the community” and that was the only section "people in the team noticed"? (...double standards?)
Well, to me it seem there was a pressure from outside regarding Hypixel skyblock coins.

So you are saying if Mick is matching donations I should instantly forgive and overlook everything else? I have been here for a very long time, longer than the majority of other people, even Mick himself, I have seen most of dramas, heard and experienced a lot of things and that’s what my opinion is based on. Fundraisers are a good thing no doubt about it but to me his “donation matching” seems more like a polishing of his public image once a year.

I apologize if this sounds a bit harsh. My only goal is to improve the “system” and help the people, in this particular case the content creators (since it's a very familiar field to me). It's very sad to see nothing is being done. I also have to say of course I might not always be correct but in order to make the correct decisions and bring forward good changes the discussion is needed… but we see none of it from Mick or community here, only the “great”, “love the update”...

Lastly, No I don't say Mick is only looking for the money, I want him to use this money and take action!

A great choice for the charity! Hype

Is there a difference between the two name colors? Not sure why there are two options?
