Bungee-Friends is a Minecraft plugin that allows players to have friends across servers. Lets say that a friend of mine is on a different server connected with Bungeecord, and I want to message him without joining his server. I can simply just execute the command: /friend add (friend) and if he accepts my invite I can then do /msg (friend) with the message I want to send him. Each player's friends will be saved in the friends.yml file inside of the plugins folder.

BungeeCord is a "proxy" server software that allows for multiple Minecraft servers to be "connected" in such a way that it allows you to teleport between servers, but only use one IP to join the network of servers.
