Buzz Anticheat is set to release here shortly and I'm looking to know what sort of questions the community might have so I can make sure to address them on my initial sales thread.
If you have any questions about the product please ask and I will reply as soon as I can. Thanks!
Q&A
A: NotLucky & sim0n are the main developers for Buzz. They have many notable projects most notably Meow, but they have their hands in many aspects of the anticheat community and are very highly respected.
Q: What reach can it detect?
A: It can detect up to 3.01. It will take some time for Buzz to be able to detect at such a low reach, the lower they use the slower the detection will be, however, the check should never false flag meaning 1/2 alerts are very suspicious.
Q: What version is it for?
A: Buzz will support versions 1.7.0 - 1.16.5, but there will be some false positive in 1.9+ because we're not fully done accounting for all changes made.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: As of right now pricing is not set in stone, but based on the feedback given to us during our initial testing phase we are confident that we will be releasing the best public anticheat to hit MC-Market. We are debating between having a monthly option or just having one-time payments. I will share our initial thoughts on pricing since it's been asked about so frequently.
$30/mo - 1 month subscription
$80 - 3 month subscription
$150 - 6 month subscription
$300 - 1 year subscription
$500 - Lifetime
Q: What are the checks/hacks it can detect?
A: Buzz will be able to detect all your blatant hacks with no problem. Buzz will detect any sophisticated movement bypasses, including velocity, reach, and autoclicker. There is a wide range of checks to detect almost all cheats.
Q: Is it optimized?
A: Buzz is of course optimized to its fullest potential made to run with hundreds of real active players.
Q: How can potential buyers be sure it will work properly as needed before purchasing?
A: We believe strongly in letting our products speak for themselves, Buzz will be no different. All too often we see people making claims that aren't true or using words their buyers don't understand to make it seem like they have something amazing when in reality it's quite simple. Buzz will have a test server that will be open to potential buyers so they can freely compare Buzz between the competition.
Q: Is there a place to test or see it in game before purchasing?
A: Buzz will have a test server that will be open to potential buyers.
Q: Will the plugin remain maintained and will potential buyers receive all future updates?
A: Buzz will remain updated, and we believe that a monthly price structure would incentivize updates and retaining our goal of being the best public anticheat solution.
Q: Are source copies of the product being sold as well?
A: No.
Q: How will it manage on a large server that would require 100s if not thousands of checks per second?
A: Buzz is optimized to its fullest potential made to run with hundreds of real active players.
Q: Does it use any form of database software to store detections, bans, etc (i.e. MySQL, Redis, etc)?
A: Buzz will have database support for MySQL and MongoDB.
Q: How can you ensure that with the purchase of your anticheat that server owners are satisfied and know cheating is kept to a minimum on their server compared to other competing anticheats?
A: Buzz was created by industry professionals, few people are as respected and gifted at anticheat development as NotLucky and sim0n. Buzz was made with the end-user in mind. Everything put into Buzz was added knowing that it is the best possible solution both to prevent cheaters but also to do so using minimal resources. Buzz will also have automated action checks that admins can enable separate from normal alerts to get a look at high-risk players. Buzz was made to be the best public anticheat solution and will do what it takes to retain that.
Q: Are there any aspects of this anticheat that can differentiate cheats from a custom enchants plugin?
A: Buzz is packet-based, we should be able to support any custom enchants and on the off chance we do not we have an API for developers to use so any plugin can be supported.
Q: Will there be custom ban effects?
A: This is something we can do easily, as of now we don't have that. If you have a suggestion I would love to hear it! Buzz will be highly customizable, you will be able to customize the name of the anticheat displayed to players and change the color of alert messages to better fit your style preference.
Q: Is there a test server? I'd love to try to bypass the anticheat.
A: Buzz will have a test server that will be open to potential buyers.
Q: Is this all your code?
A: All the code is Buzz's code, made by NotLucky and sim0n.
Q: What is your target audience?
A: Buzz is hoping to open the door to a much broader audience. Our market is semi-larger server owners, we hope to offer a monthly solution for smaller-medium servers that want to have the best anticheat solution as well. We are hoping that our monthly plan at $30 a month or just $1 a day will help make this more affordable and allow the smaller guys to compete at large server quality.
Q: Can you provide us with code snippets or previous coded anticheat experience to show your qualifications?
A: Yes, that is something I will make sure to include when I make my sales thread.
Q: Initial cost and if you can defend that cost pls and thx u
A: I believe that the price structure below allows for server owners to choose the option that best works for them at that moment. Looking at our spigots we see that we have a lot of concurrently monthly users who use even our lowest spigots but also a lot of inactive and or customers who have left completely. This pricing allows for people to try the product and if they like it buy the lifetime version or only have cost them $30 to try a great product for a month. Server owners that know of our ability and that we will continue to keep this product at the top can buy the lifetime right at the start. Server owners that want to pay as they need I think will find $30 a month or just $1 a day is very manageable for any server.
$30/mo - 1 month subscription
$80 - 3 month subscription
$150 - 6 month subscription
$300 - 1 year subscription
$500 - Lifetime
Q: Do you plan on open-sourcing this project in the future? If no, do you plan on creating DLC premium checks that catch even the most latest cheats?
A: No. Buzz will be maintained as long as there are active clients. We have active users on products of ours dating back 4+ years ago and we are looking to make Buzz a similar 4+ year project but maintained at the highest quality level.
Q: I've seen on this forum that anticheat developers release a big product that will be designed to work on a "enteprise scale" but then they either get banned or just go quiet. They usually have a high cost too, just for them to leave the scene. How can we ensure that purchasing Buzz will keep some form of consistency and regulatory updates from both the anticheat and it's developers?
A: Buzz is not like the projects you mentioned in a few ways. One, Buzz is already in a releasable state. Most people start talking about their product and making promises before they have done anything. Two, the developers that worked to make Buzz are not your average mcm developers. They are some if not the most respected anticheat developers for Minecraft. Three, StellarDev has been providing high-end products like this for the past 3 years. Buzz will become a staple product and receive consistent innovation.
Q: I will say; for many anti-cheats released on mc-market, how can we insure that this isn't going to be like the last 5. Sure, it may be good; but what is your marketing plan? Are you planning on reinvesting your return back towards improving the business?
A: Lots of products are driven by community engagement, the more server owners using the product the more information we can gather on how to make improved checks but also what quality of life features to add. We do have 20% of profits allocated back into maintenance and updates for Buzz.
Q: Is it self-learning / if it makes a mistake will it know that, and it won't make the same mistake twice?
A: Buzz is not machine learning, it's better to just make actual checks that use the Minecraft logic and movement.
Q: Does it have a replay feature? So, if the plugin believes someone is hacking it records the last 5 minutes of their actions?
A: Buzz doesn't have a replay feature, blatant stuff like bhop and fly would get you auto-banned in seconds and you can configure auto bans for other checks as well. This could be added into Buzz at some point but does not offer a huge advantage at this time.
Q: If no to both of these, why should someone spend $500 or even a monthly price?
A: Without both, the features mentioned above Buzz is still well worth its proposed price point for a few reasons. Buzz is not made by amateur developers and this is not their first anticheat. Unlike most anticheats released on MC-Market the development team for Buzz is well versed and experienced in this field. Buzz has some of the most sophisticated checks that cannot be bypassed no one else can make this claim and back it as Buzz can. Buzz focused on being the best public anticheat solution and we believe we have achieved that already, that should justify the price. When broken down Buzz ends up being at most $1 a day, that's less than a cup of coffee everyday server owners shouldn't struggle to maintain that.
Q: How strong is the anti-leaking?
Lucky's current anticheat has some great protection for leaking and cracking, will buzz anticheat have something similar to it or will it be limited anti-leaking software. I wouldn't like to pay 500$ for the anticheat, but then to see it leaked on other websites.
A: The anti-leaking will be solid, it will be a combination of what NotLucky and Simon do and what Jacob does. We are very confident that this project will remain secure, we know how vital that aspect is for an anticheat.
Q: Will Buzz Anticheat be slotted?
A: No Buzz will not be slotted.
Q: How hard will it be to test the anticheat?
A: It will be very easy to test Buzz for most people. There are a basic set of requirements users must meet to be allowed access upon request. These requirements aren't disclosed to the public but I can assure 99% of users will meet the requirements and not even know it.
Q: Will there be active development throughout the years, or will it be abandoned quickly?
A: Buzz will be actively maintained yes, we have put in a lot of measures to ensure we are always focused on Buzz being the best it can be. We have created a way to not need to push a new product but instead innovate our current. We are excited to work on Buzz for the coming years.
Q: Will there be different plans? (such as Premium, Advanced or Enterprise)
A: No Buzz will not have different plans or levels of quality or service. We believe these are nothing more than gimmicks to get clients to pay more.
Q: How effective is Buzz Anticheat against GCD patched clients such as Liquid Bounce or Moon?
A: Buzz will detect them to an extent, through strafe, reach, and autoclicker detections, when it reaches the point of bypassing Buzz, the advantage will be very low. You won't be able to use these clients to gain a noticeable advantage. Again we don't make false claims and are up front, you're welcome to test anytime.
Q: How fast will bypasses take to get patched?
A: This sort of question is hard to answer without offering one of the generic bs answers like "Instantly!" or "All bugs fixed within 24 hours!" The truth of the matter is that we won't know how long it takes to fix something until we have fixed it. What might seem simple could open a whole can of unseen worm. We will be actively maintaining Buzz every month looking to make updates where we can if a bug comes up we will look to squash it as soon as we can.
Q: Will there be an auto updater or loader for the anticheat?
A: Yes Buzz will.
Q: How fast is the detection compared to Meow Anticheat (Lucky's anticheat)
A: Buzz is meant to be the next best option, so that means there will be more sophisticated checks where Meow is faster than Buzz. Buzz is still faster than any public anticheat out.
