Users here on McM have been deprived of their right to censorship. Staff constantly censor threads they do not want to deal with, or whenever the thread is arguing about something.

Who else believes this needs to be stopped?!

This thread is also not doing anything wrong, so please do not lock it. I am just trying to gain support for ideas in a positive way. This is not to ceate more arguments, but to help the staff see what other users think.

I would also appreciate it if the thread is not locked and I am told to PM Mick. One voice to Mick isn't powerful enough to make a change, but 10 or 20 sure is pretty powerful.

Another possible idea for a solve to this problem would adding a "Complaints" section which goes in locked by chat. In this section, arguing should be aloud.

We (staff) have been here long enough to know when a thread (usually suggestions like "demote _____") are going to turn into a mess.
As I've said, if you're going to do so, at least do it constructively and try to be professional about it. Comparing a chat mod to one of the worst people in the history of mankind is neither of those.
By removing the thread before it becomes a problem, we prevent a lot of warnings from being given out and therefore prevent even more griping.

Edit: Zap beat me to it, basically.

I think that people should be able to constructively criticize staff or the decisions made by staff without fear of getting suspended over it.

By removing the thread gives more reason to see why you guys are biased against people voicing their concerns.

Please keep it clean, haha. That's the kind of stuff that will lead to a lock.

You were not suspended for constructively criticizing staff. You were warned for saying "staff said <insert very incorrect information here>".
Because you had so many warning points, your account was automatically suspended.

And this post is why these threads are removed, because people bring other things into the thread that don't belong and it turns into a mess (as it already has).

By removing the thread gives more reason to see why you guys are biased against people voicing their concerns.
I can see your point; however, as it's been mentioned - we know when threads aren't going to go anywhere.
Even if someone submits a great suggestion and it gets 100 upvotes, there is no guarantee that it will be accepted.

Which precisely is the problem, it only takes one stupid comment in a heated debate about how horrible <insert something> is for it to turn into a shitstorm and for people to be getting warnings left and right and for the small staff problem to turn into a crazy issue.

I think there should be a section of the forum where people can (optionally) publicly protest against staff warnings to make the whole process more transparent. I think if staff knew that the discussion was being held publicly, they'd be a little more fair in their decisions.

I also think there needs to be some sort of system implemented in terms of staff accountability for their mistakes or actions that were taken in poor judgment.

In a lot of ways it just sort of seems like staff can warn whomever they want whenever they want right now with no repercussions. Staff should be held to a high standard and when there are numerous complaints against an individual staff member those complaints should, at the very least, be examined with scrutiny by those who chose to put them in charge.

I don't see how anyone could argue against there being more transparency involved in this website.

How do you know they aren't already doing this?

I'm saying I'd like to know that it *is* happening. I don't see what's wrong with wanting a little bit more transparency in the operation of the website.
