I consistently see people on the banned users for not being 13 years old, however their banning sentence lasts forever. This defies me as they are no longer permitted to sell, and never had a chance. You're punishing people for being honest.

Fun fact: The younger ones are less likely to scam than most, really just cause they don't know how and don't need to.

What I'm asking is for the ban to last till they turn 13 based on the date they set their birthday as, that seems reasonable right?

also to the guy who's gonna say "i n-0 w@nT kIDSd fLOoDingGM Y mAkrtet" screw you, and preteens freely use money more. aka: more sales.

How do you find the day to set the ban to expire? If you ask them when their birthday is, most will lie and say its in a few days / weeks.

They can always contact a staff once they turn 13 meanwhile providing crucial evidence that they turned 13.
Please use logic, They can always lie about the date birth to get unbanned early.

12 Years old is not a proper age to even start making business, i dont even think 13 is as well.[DOUBLEPOST=1505680351][/DOUBLEPOST]
You can always lie on that, Where is your logic at? Please think a little bit.
If they're going to lie, then they will. Why punish the honest people?

I don't know if you are joking or not, but not everyone is honest in this market.
This isn't a family friendly market nor is business.
But my point still stands. People are going to consistently lie about age. Some people don't. Aren't the people that don't the ones we want in a market?[DOUBLEPOST=1505680587][/DOUBLEPOST]
Sure that makes sense! Just make the ban until they become 13 :)

How do you know the date when they turn 13? The only way would be to ask the person. All you have is their word for it. Most people who are banned for being under age have already put an age above 13 when signing up. Just people have found out and reported them. If they lie about their age once, they can do again.

I agree with you to an extent, I believe that if a user personally believes that they are mature enough to step into a Minecraft marketplace, they should be able to do so without being punished for providing their correct age. As Fire stated above, "MC Market" has to comply with the laws of the countries where it is accessible. Some of the material on "MC Market" could be considered 'harmful' to children and that could be the defining reason on why children under 13 years old are not allowed to do their business on "MC Market". I am sure that there are plenty of people who are under the age of 13 years of age with an account registered to "MC Market" which have obviously lied about there age and you are right that those who are being honest should be appreciated, but, that does not change things.

THEY CAN ALWAYS LIE omg.
You seem to not understand, people can act honest. people can say they are honest. How do you know someone is honest to begin with? You never know you get scammed or someone is going to scam you until you get scammed. You never know if someone is playing a mask and then acts like a fucking hypocrite & asshole.

You just can't read someone and know what they are thinking until they act.

If someone has lied about their age, How do we trust other people will not lie about it? Believe on them?? dont make me laugh, This isnt a family. This is a business market.
I don't think you understand my point. PEOPLE CAN LIE-THEY WILL LIE. Now that that's established let's get to the ones that don't lie and are banned for not being of age. WHEN YOU ARE BANNED FOR NOT BEING OF AGE, IT IS THE DATE THAT YOU PUT ON YOUR PROFILE (hint: you can't change it) WHEN THAT HAPPENS, YOURE IP BANNED AND CANT MAKE ANOTHER ACCOUNT. YOURE PERMANENTLY BANNED ON A MARKET FOR NOT BEING OF AGE.

Ex: Let's say Doge was 12 when he made an account and provided an honest birthday. Should he be permanently banned? Or banned till he becomes 13.

It's logical.

The account needs to be permabanned because the site is not allowed to collect any identifiable data from people under 13 without express parental consent. Instead of attempting the mess of getting legally valid parental consent, MCM chooses to ban anyone under 13, and their whole account with them, so that the collected data is not a thing anymore.
When people turn 13 (and prove it), they're allowed to make a new account (afaik), and continue on from there. I do not know how the exact procedure works, I never encountered it in my time as mod, but it's theoretically a thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1505681505][/DOUBLEPOST]So, to sum it up, the reason people under 13 are banned is not because of temperament. It's because of legal reasons.

Basically. Emails, passwords, IP, all of it. Not doing so makes them in violation of some rule or other that has a nice little acronym that i cannot currently remember.

Only reason i disagreed is because these young people would have either not bothered to follow the rules or read the rules and just ignored them. They can think of it as a punishment for not listening to the rules.
