Edit: We are no longer openly recruiting fresh new members (those without an established background). If you still wish to apply and have the necessary experience to join the team as an auxiliary, please leave your application in my DMs here on this website. Please do not contact me via any other platform or advertise anything to me. Any messages that aren't related to applying will be ignored.

Hello, I am the Head of Security of a budding new server called SolaceCraft. Our server is still in the making and we'll need people to help protect its community and facilitate its growth. I'm looking to build a security team that can do just that once we open to the public. Given that this team will have specific standards, there are some requirements that you'll need to meet in order to qualify. First, you must be 18+ years of age, although there can be exceptions if you have verifiable proof of a background in this field. Second, you must be well written enough to appear professional. Third, you need to be willing to follow the standard operating procedures set by myself. This includes but not limited to the following:

  1. Respecting the chain of command. If you're instructed by a superior to do something in regards this server's security related affairs, then you need to do as you're told.
  2. Keeping a professional appearance. You must be willing to adhere to the standards of name, skin, and uniform. First, your name cannot be too outlandish. The same goes with your skin. You will also need to apply a specific uniform to your skin that will be provided to you once you're fully accepted.
  3. Understanding how to conduct yourself. Members of this security team are held to a higher standard than everyone else. This means that more maturity and respect is expected of you when you're on this team.
Every applicant who is accepted will be given a trial position so they can show me their potential as a fully fledged member. Please be aware that this will not be a paid position, so do not ask about it. DM me your application in this format:

In Game Name -

Time Zone -

Years Experience in Minecraft Servers -

First Name -

Country and or State/Province -

Age -

Years of Experience In Similar Positions -

In your own words, what does it mean to be held to a higher standard? -

Why would you make a good addition to the team? -

Are you willing to adhere to the standard policies set for you? -

Do you understand that this server is still in early development and you'll need to be patient? -

Afterwards, I will try to respond as soon as possible with an update about whether or not you will move onto the next step. Should you be able to move onto the next step, I will interview you to further determine whether you'll be accepted or not. Please be diligent about getting back to me when I respond to your application. If you do not contact me within 48 hours of my reply, then you will be automatically denied. Do bear in mind that my time zone is PST (Pacific Standard Time).

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

What exactly is the benefit for your team?
From what I see they have to adhere to your high expectations, do every single thing you say without question and also pass a test.

Keeping in mind the fact that this is a completely non-paid position, if you want a good team I'd recommend you realise that they'd be doing this completely voluntarily to help you out. So, you should probably try highlight a good reason they should actually spend their time on your server.

Either way, good luck!

We are a new server in development, so we don't have much in the way of funds to commission any moderators. That means we mainly have to rely on people willing to volunteer to put in the work to see where it goes. I'm not even being paid for my time. I'm doing this because I have the passion to contribute to creating something from nothing. I don't need to think about getting paid because that's enough for me and anyone who'd sign on would share that mentality. Sure, it would be nice to get paid. However, that just isn't feasible right now. I know that what I'm asking for may seem strict, but it only applies to the moderation team specifically. If you are interested in helping out in a different department (building, developing, etc.), then you can leave your Discord ID and denote which other department that it is. As for the security team, my expectations are firm. At the end of the day, I see this server as a good way to gather together a community to play a video game with. Some people may see this as an opportunity to make a quick buck and that's fine, but that's just something we're not doing for the foreseeable future. The reason that I'm even doing this may not seem like a good one to some, but I know that there are others out there like myself. You may not agree with my expectations, but they are what I'm looking for in those who'd be on this team. For those who don't feel that they'd be a good fit, I wish them the best of luck in finding where they do.

These are some interesting requirements to say the least - what responsibilities do members of the moderation team have, apart from the standard "ban people, mute people, answer questions" etc.?

Well, members of this moderation team have to maintain a similar image to that of the server itself. A high degree of professionalism, a unique/immersive experience, and a presence that says that these individuals are highly vetted throughout their time on the team. Members will need to fill out reports every time they take any security related action. They also should not be afraid to give feedback on other members or the server itself as we always value the word of team members and are open to learning ways to better our server experience. Things like the uniforms are mainly for flavor, but are integral to the sort of experience we're going for. We are also planning a jail system that security members will be responsible for. Some may find this a little strange and they're welcome to look elsewhere for something that fits them better. Overall, this is basically just a mod position with a slight RP aspect to it. I hope that this cleared some things up for you.

P.S.
Sorry for the late reply, things have been busy with irl stuff and whatnot. Thank you for your time.
