Hello McM,

I was just wondering if it's worth getting the FREE CloudFlare plan for my upcoming server forum, or should i just ignore it? how much does the free version help?

tl;dr Cloudflare is worth the time and effort to set it to protect your website. It is also a free dns service so it makes that aspect a lot easier to manage, not to mention adding self-signed ssl keys with ease.

If you keep resolving the same thing it will keep returning the same result. It will not magically, somehow, return what it goes to in the back-end. People can get your actual server IP through emails or accessible records or vulnerable sites, to name a few. Unpropagated changes can also be a reason, but it really depends on the circumstance if that's a factor.
Well, I'm just telling you that but you don't have to believe me. When sombody showed me that exploit, I tried recreating it but I simply couldn't find how, however it seemed that a subdomain is hosted on another subdomain with randomized characters-like how CPanel works with the Add-on domain feature.

omg the cringe.

cloudflare sucks for ddos's using the http method. does absolutely nothing. it just sends the traffic straight through.
free plan will do and then just set your site to i'm under attack mode for a little bit of ddos prot

It's because that's not how it works. You probably did something stupid, he found your IP and said a stupid smartass way to: 1. give himself more credit than he should have and 2. to stop you finding out how he really found your IP. Find me proof and I'll believe you, or else you are wrong (which you most likely are).
