From what I heard, the one left Cobalt code is owned by the user who won the 3rd Cobalt competition, and he isn't a minecraft player, meaning the code will most probably never be redeemed nor sold, since he probably has no idea of the value either. The only way it'll ever be taken is if somebody knows the general layout of the codes and somehow spends the time to work through the possibilities and get it.

You realize that wouldn't work at all right. It would have thousands of options. Cobalt capes are redeemed by specifically emailing Mojang staff with a specific message as well as your code, username, and email address of the account. I'd really only have 1 chance to do it.
Oh right, didn't know it was like that not just enter it into a box sorta thing.
