Hey everyone, I'm Shaun, the Operations Lead over at https://coraldev.net.

Today I wanted to get your guys' feedback on our website. Ideally I'd like to get your input on how you perceive the website's design, performance, and whether or not it helps you better understand what services Coral Dev can provide and who will benefit most from using Coral Dev.

Just a bit of background, Coral Dev is a Minecraft plugins development team. We strive to provide top-notch services and carry over business practices and project management experience we gained from running Syncore, a web design firm (https://syncore.llc | https://shaunchander.me).

We'd like our website to accomplish 3 goals:
  1. Inform the user about the services Coral Dev offers
  2. Get users to our Contact page (and submit a contact form or join our Discord server)
  3. Drive traffic to our blog, which will contain articles on running MC servers in 2021 (multiple categories and types of posts)

URL to our website: https://coraldev.net

I'll provide a template in the spoiler below if you'd like to use it when critiquing our website.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Does the website accomplish Goal #1 and why/why not?:
  2. Does the website accomplish Goal #2 and why/why not?:
  3. Does the website accomplish Goal #3 and why/why not?:
  4. What do you like about the website (ex: design, layout, etc.)?:
  5. What do you dislike about the website (ex: slow, too dark, etc.)?:
  6. How would you improve the website overall?:

TLDR; Please review our website at https://coraldev.net

It does what you say you want done. Only thing I would recommend is possibly offering a discount if you act within a certain amount of time in order to inspire action.

Gatsby

It looks decent and accomplishes what you wish. I agree with Scroll, I'd add something to give incentive.

Imo your logo in the hero section plus the logo icon in the Navbar makes it seem overused. I'd also move the call to action button over to the right a little. As it isn't actually aligned with the text. It's a tad larger.

Depending on the screen size, there is some discrepancy between the "our team" image and the button. But that's just fiddly piddly stuff.

I do like the mobile version of the site and I'm assuming it's using react so the add to home screen was nice to see.

Anyways, it's 3am and so I probably missed stuff but it's my opinion. Looks good and professional to me.

Honestly,

I think it's an awesome looking website and I especially like teams that put more information on their website with a clean looking design. It's a very well known fact that clients are automatically put off something that looks bad or unprofessional and automatically drawn to something that looks professional and appealing. Your site is very eye catching due to the colour scheme and the general animation, which may I add is soft and not aggressive which I personally like. I also like the fact you've added a blog to your website, something for people to read and show interest in your services.

I would maybe recommend having your developer write one or two line description to go under their profile when looking at "Our Team" as when choosing someone to work with you want to match with them and having that "personal" level with someone is always important. I think you've done a fantastic job and with a few minor details and tidy ups you could have something that really does appeal to the wider community and should help you expand as a business and I wish you the best of luck in doing that.

I would also add a small post about the total services you offer and possibly add portfolio links for your developers so people could see some past work when looking at the team and deciding who they should hire. In my opinion there is not much point in having a website if all it does is overload you with the whole "Contact Us" feature because you can achieve that without a website, it really should be used to showcase your services.

I hope this was useful.
