Cracked servers

Hello,

Say if I were to make a cracked server, how would I proceed to getting a playerbase, and avoid hackers, since you can easily change your name and come back on. Would I just IP ban them? Any tips? I don't play minecraft, but the only reason I would like to make a minecraft server is because of the playerbase, I'm not really worried about donations...

no. just no. XD LOL u can't/won't trust your eyes if u see how many ips you would have to do do. thats impossible, but there is such plugins that blocks ips which are from the vpn organizations like "Crucial Paradigm Pty Ltd"

It checks if they are on proxy's if they are it bans them.

Doesn't work with all VPNs and Proxy's, it will be a challenge to block all of them.

A lot of people here are saying that there wont be much donations because cracked players cannot afford minecraft.
You would be surprised.. I have played on a cracked server for a couple of months last year and I got to know players who had donated over $200 USD but they didn't have a premium minecraft. I did ask why and they said there is no point when they can play for free.
I own a premium account myself but a lot of cracked players do have this way of thinking.

You can use AuthME plugin to keep accounts saved but be very careful with the database file. Always keep backups because that is one of the most important files you will have because if that file is lost all your player accounts will be vulnerable.

And yes there will be a lot more hackers but as long as you have active staff members it wont be as big of a problem that people make it sound like it is.

Some hackers use proxy to come back once or twice but after getting banned 3 times they get tired and move on.

I was admin for a long time on a cracked server with 3k players. First get authme (password and stuff) Make that you need to register on the forums first to login in the server with a database that is contacted to the plugin. Make 3 acc's for each IP to register. IP-ban ( and username ban) hackers directly and dont accept their ban appeals even when they are a donators. A vpn blocker plugin will block any type of vpn and proxy here you go https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/vpnguard.6246/ their are other ones dw. Get a custom nocheatplus config and maybe a custom auto-ban if you want.
