The Concept
Craftiverse is an ambitious project looking to forge a Metaverse using Minecraft's powerful content creation tools. Most Metaverse and crypto gaming projects attempt to make their own games, often wasting six to seven figures in development costs, while that money could be better allocated into using existing gaming platforms to accomplish their goals. We aim to integrate the best concepts of Web3, including NFTs, P2E, and DAOs, into a large Minecraft server project, utilizing the existing capabilities of Minecraft server platforms.
Our primary server will feature a fixed amount of in-game land plots to build upon, much akin to a creative plots server, and also taking inspiration from existing Metaverse titans such as Decentraland. With these plots, ownership is represented as NFTs, which each plot being an NFT that can be controlled by an ethereum wallet. To manage these plots, players can link their ethereum wallets to their in-game profiles in order for our plugins to mange who owns what lands. Adjacent lands can be merged to eliminate the road in between and to expand your building capacity.
Why own a land plot?
Owning a land plot confers significant benefits to holders as these are the gateways to content creation on our Metaverse. With a plot, you can:
- Host events: Events listed both in game and on our website for players to join. For instance, skin competitions, parkour events, contents, festivals, & more
- Advertise projects: We encourage holders to advertise their own crypto projects if they so wish
- Launch experiences: Land owners will be able to launch their own "Experiences". Experiences will be separate servers from ours that will have full creative control over their content, plugins, etc
Why join the server (P2E + CVRSE Token)?
The main appeal for both players and creators is the CVRSE token. This will be an ERC20 standard token on Ethereum that has significant utility in our Play-to-Earn (P2E) rewards system, Marketplace, our DAO, & more. The token will be listed on exchanges, however, for the sake of safety surrounding Minecraft's EULA and the SEC, we shall set the expectations to be clear that we cannot guarantee a real-world value on the token, and an investor cannot expect a return on their investment. Regardless, expect full transparency on our end with token security audits and locked liquidity funds to ensure robust standards.
For players:
Players on our server are encouraged to participate in events or quests, visit plots, & more via Play-to-Earn mechanics. By playing on our server and completing various tasks (for example: joining an event), players will be awarded varying amounts of CVRSE token to their linked wallets as a reward. Any server experiences that a player joins may also distribute tokens to them for various reasons.
For creators:
By owning land, you will be given grants of CVRSE token to be used as P2E rewards for players on your servers. I'm sure you can see where this goes: Factions servers with payouts in CVRSE, MMO servers with quests awarded with CVRSE, and a whole wider array of creative use cases that I'm sure you server owners out their can better think of than myself.
These P2E mechanics will be made incredibly easy to implement for server owners as we will make a publicly available library to connect servers to our token contracts where all a plugin that uses our API has to do is input a player name or a wallet address and an amount, and it will seamlessly pull from a funds pool designated to the server.
Current State
The development of the website has already begun. The website will display our plots map, list events, asset marketplace, and more all under one umbrella. Players will also use it to securely link their crypto wallets with their Minecraft accounts using ethereum signatures and Minecraft OAuth.
We have a plugin developer and contract developer already picked out and will be commissioning them to work on both the Ethereum Smart Contracts and the server plugins that will make this project possible. That said, we are still looking for graphics designers, marketers, advisors, and potentially investors as well. Honestly, if there's a even a slight chance that you'd think your skills would be useful for us, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Our roadmap plans an early launch around late Q2 2022 in time for summer, where the gaming industry performs quite well from increased playerbases.
