CubeCraft Games is one of the world's top three largest Minecraft brands. Our Java server started in 2012, and we pioneered many new game modes, now staples of the Minecraft server community. In 2017 we became official partners of Minecraft and launched our Bedrock server offering in 2018. Over 85 million unique accounts have joined our games across both platforms, and we continue to see hundreds of thousands of players daily.

We try to keep our players at the centre of everything we do: providing them with amazing games and fresh content. As we continue to grow, we will seek people to join us who share our passion for creating excellence.

As a team, we are all genuinely global. Our main base of operations is in our offices in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, UK; however, we have many remote team members. When looking at new candidates, we look for some particular features, such as:
  • The ability to work without direct guidance.
  • Passion for working in a customer-orientated environment.
  • Experience in scaling and making excellent products.
Please note: Applicants must be 16 years old or over upon application.

CubeCraft @ 10
This year CubeCraft is celebrating its 10th birthday! After a decade of fun, we're excited to be preparing some of our biggest updates yet to our technology and product offerings - setting ourselves up for another ten years.

As part of our anniversary celebrations, we are preparing to revamp our Java network as we upgrade our base Minecraft version. We will introduce an entirely new commercial model and are taking the opportunity to redo our Tebex store to support this.

The Project
We are looking for a complete overhaul of our Tebex Store: to align closer to our CubeCraft Brand Style and provide an optimal user experience based on the latest standards for e-commerce, design and accessibility.

End-to-end, we expect the project to take around four weeks, with up to a couple of weeks for design, two weeks of development and a week of tweaking, testing and integration into our production store.

This will involve taking an existing Tebex template and heavily modifying it or starting entirely from scratch.

You (or your team)
We are open to working in several formats depending on your skillset and portfolio. We will accept pitches from:
  • Single, full-stack designer & developer working solo
  • A designer or developer who wants to act as a lead contractor and has other contractors they want to bring in (who they have worked with before)
  • Studio/Team based arrangement
Responsibilities
  • Sitemap/Wireframe the store with product offerings (including mobile and tablet)
  • Complete Design of store, product and other Tebex Store pages
  • Production of art (or optionally, we can provide art talent for this)
  • All design and art must be in-line with our brand/art style - we have internal guidance for this
  • Development of the theme and integration into the Tebex platform
  • Commercial analytics integration with Google Analytics
  • Provide documentation (and potentially continuing support) for seasonal sales, events and other rotational content
Skills Required
  • Understanding of the Tebex platform and their templating engine
  • Deep knowledge of HTML, Javascript and CSS, and relevant frameworks
  • Excellent design skills and experience with relevant design tools like Adobe Suite, Invision or Figma (we have no preference)
  • (Desired) Animation w/ CSS3 and JS
  • (Desired) Drawn art Skills
  • (Desired) SEO Experience
  • (Desired) Advanced Google Analytics 4 (Events, Ecommerce, etc), with an awareness of GDPR
Application Process
As this is a project-based appointment, we will be accepting pitches.

We care about your design and development talent, not your sales technique - please don't fret too much about getting this perfect. Supporting developing talent is an integral part of our team culture, so we try to make our application and pitching process as easy as possible. If you are missing critical information from your pitch, we'll try to let you know about it.

We'd like to know the following:
  • Who you are, or who your key team members are
  • An existing portfolio of work for other clients, or personal projects
  • References or vouches from previous clients
  • Explanation of how you have the required skills and experience for the project
  • Why you think you'd be a good appointment for this project
  • Rough timeline for production
  • A quote from you for the cost of the project, including all labour, resources, licenses and subcontractors (please be honest where you are unsure!)

Please send all pitches through to [email protected]

Budget
We have a budget of between £3,000-£4,000 for this project. If the project or your pitch relies on our in-house talent (e.g for art production etc), then this will reduce down accordingly.

What do you mean in-office?
I imagine we are one of the only hiring posts here offering positions within an office!

We have a friendly and fun office based in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, where you could work from. We understand that working remotely isn't for everyone.
