I think we should have Mick purchase a custom coded addon from someone, to improve the vouches system. I propose in this addon, that when someone uses the word "vouch" or some sort of definite way to measure that they actually vouch, like in the scam reports, it should say "Pending Author's Approval", and only people that are approved for vouches can actually be visible on the thread.

when accepting the vouch some sort of box that says "Reason for accepting vouch" which could be anything from a screenshot of past transactions to a full out chatformat link, so that staff can verify the authenticity of the vouch. The reason would be displayed below the vouch, and if a user finds it suspicious they can report it and the staff could look in to it and verify if it's real or fake. Adding proof imo is the only way fake vouches will be reduced or stopped.

MC-Market.org is the home of Minecraft trades and sales, since August 2014. You've arrived at the #1 Minecraft Marketplace for domains, servers, plugins, hosting, advertising, websites and services.

This site is for everyone, so it has to be user friendly for everyone. Not just the people that know how to click thru a bunch of posts and profile's to deem if a person is trustworthy or not.
You're acting like it's hard to click through posts lol. It's not something you need a college education to know how to do.

Most deals on this site are done over PayPal, which requires a user to be 18 years of age in order to use the service. In that case, every child on here should be getting their parents to do their transactions for them, right? :)

So in that case, the parents are responsible for determining whether or not the people they are dealing with are trustworthy and if adults are scammed because they do not do their research then that is their own fault.

I never said I agreed though. I simply said that Mick should either say no or yes because it's already boring to see a new thread every 10 minutes.

You're acting like it's hard to post four-five screenshots
Taking the time to accept every vouch that comes to you is time consuming and unnecessary. It is up to the buyer to be responsible enough to do their research on who they're buying from. For instance, if I was going to buy something off of ebay, I would look at the seller's reputation and look at their past deals and see what people have to say about them because that is the responsible thing to do. I wouldn't buy from someone who has bad reviews or lacks them at all. It should be the same for this site and any other internet marketplace.

lol considering Monty & I run 3 separate services on this forum, each of which is filled with vouches, we'd have to provide screenshots for each of these vouches to prove that they were proper transactions, and we'd have to do it for every vouch we get in the future. This is an unnecessary hassle for us, when your system does little to actually prevent people from being scammed. This system is still entirely abusable, it just requires more effort to do so. It also prevents people from vouching on threads for people they trust through previous transactions. Those vouches are still meaningful/worthwhile, most people would agree.

and it's not even really possible to screenshot our homework transactions because a lot of people want that stuff to be private.

A simple vouch rating may be the most easily abusable system, but it is ultimately up to the person doing the deal to do research on whether or not their trading partner is trustworthy.

I never said I agreed though. I simply said that Mick should either say no or yes because it's already boring to see a new thread every 10 minutes.

Oh ok ^_^

I see no benefits in this idea. As people have already stated, the owners want vouches, so they can negotiate deals to get past this system.

Another part of this is that the MC-Market community is already very low quality. It's the community's job to decide the way that the community works. There wouldn't be any of these problems if it weren't for the members that created them. So, if you want anything beneficial to go towards this community, start fixing the problems that the community is creating. Plugins like this will be expensive for a temporary obstacle.

I literally said "when accepting the vouch some sort of box that says "Reason for accepting vouch" which could be anything from a screenshot of past transactions to a full out chatformat link, so that staff can verify the authenticity of the vouch.", and if the owners go for the effort of getting people to fake conversations, It's still better than the current system where everyone and anyone can vouch.

The problem is, that is time consuming for both the seller and the buyer. If I bought a $3 semi-OG name off of someone, I wouldn't bother taking the time to vouch and give a reason for my vouch, because I'd think it's unnecessary. I'd much rather just leave a vouch rating on the thread. If I was the buyer in that situation I also wouldn't want to take the time to write up why I confirm a vouch.

Do you believe that staff members should take the time to check every single thread for every single vouch?

Can you please read the WHOLE thread before commenting jesus christ..

They don't need to, only when someone reports the proof as not being valid or something along those lines.

And what happens when it's the sale of something that needs to be private, like nara's and my homework service?
Then just provide a screenshot of the paypal transaction or them saying thanks on skype...

Then it could be argued that the screenshot is fake or staged. I just think that is too much of a hassle over just having this system:

Those could be fake as well ANYTHING can be fake wtf is your point
My point is if vouches can be faked anyway, why not just make the vouch system simple and punish those who abuse it? With a system like what I just showed above, it's true that I could give an undeserving vouch to your comment right here if I wanted to. If that happened though, I should be rightfully punished for using the rating in the wrong way.
