Hello,

So I'd like to make this entire conversation civil.

This is for the Americans with our new 45th president Donald Trump. He's just signed papers to keep going with his plan to add the Dakota pipeline.

This is a very big deal now in America. A lot of republicans or people without a brain, don't know how scary this is.

He claims this will give us some more jobs. This is very untrue. Although it may add alittle more jobs for us. This ruins the environment completely, Donald Trump thinks global warming is a hoax.

It's clear that 97% scientists have proven it's not. with the Dakota access pipeline ruins the native Americans land, and just ruins our environment. The native Americans are ready to protest for there soil once again. It's been a long time since the last protest has happened.

This is just very sad watching America go backwards. This is nothing about raising jobs now, this is about what's right. The Republican Party claim immigrants have taken over our jobs when that's very untrue. People just don't get deeper and think that's technology is improving more and more everyday and it's taken over a lot of our jobs.

The Dakota pipeline will surely have another protest and there will for sure be a lot of civil rights movements like the Women's march. The republicans will not win. We're the American people that made this country to what it is now. It's trump mission to listen to the people ! This is not about him and he needs to get his ego out of his ass.

Vote if you think the Dakota pipeline should be implemented or not. Leave feedback on why you think so.

No, they shouldn't.

Dakota access pipeline ruins the native Americans land
That's my reason. Native American lands are a big part of history, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Thank you ! Glad you agree with this. And I agree we've taken so much from the native Americans. This was there land before us and we've taken away almost everything from them. It's time to step up and do what's right for them.

I know someone is going to make an uneducated argument against me and refuse to accept their factual or statistical inaccuracies and make my blood boil just a bit, so I'm simply not going to argue against them and address you specifically.
remibarna Trust me, be patient. An overwhelming majority of younger people believe in global warming (including republicans). Statistic was around 500:40 (that's over 90%). For the first time ever, solar power was competitive against coal without subsidies. That's a massive win. Oil and coal are the past, solar, hydro and wind will be the future, we just have to wait a little longer. I'm hoping they aren't cheap with this pipeline (they normally sell the contract to the lowest bidder) and that quality is granted. IF this pipeline doesn't burst, we honestly will have very little issues. If it bursts, that's a multi-trillion cleanup, a lotta lost elections for republicans, an ecological disaster, an ecological disaster and hundreds to thousands of people dead due to contaminated food and water. However...
"The republicans will not win."
They will win the battle, there's no stopping them. Congress needs to pass a law to stop the pipeline, not to authorize it... and the dems don't have enough votes. Winning the war though... that's not going to happen.

The best we the people can do is protest and make our voices be heard. Trump claims our pipeline will be American steel. He's trying to negotiate but the people are not up to negotiate they don't want there lands touched at any circumstance.

do people here even have the political knowledge to make a comment about it? I didnt even know what it was until the obama admin made a huge deal about rejecting it.

besides, the results will still be left vs. right. If you like trump, youll most likely support the pipeline, and vice versa.

It likely will be, but it doesn't have to be. People don't have to be polar, they just need to set their egos aside and accept that neither side is fully right or wrong.

They're just doing this for money. Honestly it's sad when they value the wrong things these days. One mistake and all the water will be contaminated, leaving a damaged effect on the environment.

We did a small project on the DAPL where we decorated posters and hung them up around the school. It's great to know more about what's happening around us, I'll try to start reading the news every day!

It's amazing how people say 'yes' in the poll and don't leave a comment :)

Just shows how brain dead they're when they don't have a simple argument.

remibarna That's not exactly fair of you to say though. Being polar doesn't make you braindead, calling someone polar braindead is in fact quite polar of you to say. Polarity is corrected by honest discussion and civility, not firestarting and hate.

I support trump, but I don't support this. I know why he is doing it of course. Him being Republican, all he sees are the big dollar signs. But of course, that comes at an even bigger price, (the native land), even though it will create more jobs for a while.

I just want to hear what someone who disagrees has to say. Being anti social just ruins the point of all of this.

Theo J Also, the jobs it's creating... aren't good ones. They're not going to get you an apartment and dinner on the table, they're also not going to help you out if something goes wrong and you lose functional use of a limb (which happens far more than people tend to think)

I've said this before so its only right I leave a comment after voting yes.

I voted yes for the pure fact that my dad works on the oil pipeline and supports our family with a weathly job off that (yes it's actually quite good). It most likely isn't the best thing for the land I'm not gonna fight that. I also feel that it's important to protect that type of land so in my view it's possible it should still go in but not in that exact area (I haven't looked into this subject much). I agree with many points and I also disagree with a few so my thoughts on trump are up in the air.

Pros:
Brings jobs
Natives get some money

Cons:
Could ruin the land
Causes problems
Has a few bad things that come with it.

It's all about how you see it I guess.
Gonna just leave this here you can accept my thoughts or get salty your choice ;)
