Before I right this, I just want to say this is in no way directed with hate towards any of those who sell these accounts in this section. I do not deny that they have value, but I, as well as several other users, do not agree that they have enough to be listed in the mentioned section; which is why I feel compelled to write this.

So what makes certain Pokemon names "unpopular" and why is this an issue?
It goes without saying that Pokemon series is world-known and has a wide range of characters, hence why almost every single Pokemon related name is already unavailable. However, it also goes without saying that certain Pokemon are more popular than others; more people recognize what "Pikachu" is over a newly-added, recently introduced Pokemon such as "Clauncher." The Pokemon franchise has introduced more than 100 Pokemon that are not nearly as known as the original first or second generation (including legendaries). The problem with this is that I have seen several users comment out of confusion about what a listed name in the OG accounts section means only for them to be told its a 4th generation Pokemon. With how many are being sold as of now, the flood of these confusing threads in a section meant for accounts that are, as most accurately defined, a common "verb/noun/place/animal," is harmful to the system and purpose of the section. As to why these accounts are not OG enough to fit under the OG accounts section, I believe 23jd83yhs208d summed up what I was trying to explain well.

"Let me provide some insight for you.
Pokemon names are not rare, only legendaries and most of first gen. This account name is not well known, and not worthing the price you're asking for as the starting bid only, nor not worth starring out.
So while yes, all the pokemon names are taken, they aren't rare and easy to come across here, typically being cheap. I sold Muk close to $100 because its a 3 letter name + a very well known pokemon. This is gen 4 and I barely remember this pokemon. glws." (thread: http://www.mc-market.org/threads/154208/#post-1619849)

What should we do about the issue? Why should anything be done?

As said before, the occurrence of these threads creates confusion, arguing, and overall flooding giving the amount of threads like this. The OG accounts section is intended to separate unique, rare accounts than those of less rare yet still retaining value accounts, such as these 4th generation Pokemon IGNs, that belong in the semi-OG section. As said before, this is in no way a rant/hate thread directed towards those who sell these accounts in the section. But I have seen enough complaints in the comments of these threads and widespread confusion to know that the flood of these threads are harmful. If I haven't said this before, I would just like to say I have seen pages that have had more than 6 of these names listed and it's a nuisance to come across almost a spam of these threads when you're looking to purchase decent accounts. It also again shows how easy and not rare these accounts are.

I propose that these accounts only be allowed to be sold in the semi-OG section. Another reason to support this is the fact that these accounts are priced for around the same prices of common semi-OG's in that section too, and sell for practically the typical price as well. (I've seen them usually go for $10-$20, when the BIN is set to something like $50 that's when everyone complains).

The benefits to this is that the OG accounts section would be more clean and accurate, there will be less cluttering of pages and threads, and less overall arguing, questions, and confusion.

I know this may seem like a silly issue, but like I said, I have seen many users genuinely confused by these threads and the cluttering of them when scrolling through pages looking to purchase accounts is disruptive. This has been going on for more than five months and I thought that at least someone should speak up.

Again, no hate towards the accounts or users selling them. Just looking to make MC-Market cleaner, more efficient, and accurate.

I don't really see why it should be disallowed. If people ask a too-high price and other people are willing to pay that price, it almost automatically becomes worth that price even if just temporarily.

I just mean in that section. They sell for same prices of semi-OG's and as explained before aren't as rare as others to be in that section. Using the logic that the OG section is supposed to separate things like "Jar" from "Jars," I'd use the same to say its supposed to separate names like "Muk" from "Oricorio."

Pokemon OG's are mainly for people who like Pokemon. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should be removed.
Just ignore the 1 thread out of 200, won't kill ya.
Also, "OG" don't mean "Names that sound and look cool" if that's what you're going at.
If Pokemon names aren't rare, which you are going for since you agree with Bowser. Please get a Pokemon IGN if they're not rare ;)
Like I said before, I never denied that these accounts hold some value; I simply stated how the prices of the more unpopular Pokemon sell for the typical prices of semi-OG accounts. Due to the hundreds of Pokemon in the franchise, unless it's a popular Pokemon they shouldn't necessarily be considered "rare" enough to be in the OG accounts section.

I don't dislike Pokemon and like I said in the suggestion this wasn't any hate towards those who like/sell these accounts. I just think the popular Pokemon should be in the OG section and those that aren't be in the semi-OG section. I wasn't suggesting for them to not be allowed to be sold anywhere.

Pretty sure people won't know if a Pokemon is "rare" or not. It's all about how much you know about Pokemon.
Like I'd say Joltik is well-known "rare" Pokemon, and should be in the OG section, and other will think it's a random Poke, and "not rare" when I personally think it is.
I've also never said you denied the account's value.
While the factor of it being up for interpretation (like almost anything that has value) plays a role in the pricing, there's no denying that Pokemon that are not from gen 1 or are legendary, which have been agreed by others to be considered rarest, sell for around the same pricing of semi-OG accounts.

So? Semi-OG's can be sold for more than OG's. The account "Funny", people have said it's a Semi-OG, and has been sold for a high value, even higher than some of the latest OG's being sold.

Agreed by others meaning the 1 other person who's agreed to your thread? While 3 others have disagreed.
Sigh. Yes, semi-OG's are commonly defined to be plurals of root words that are considered to be OG. However, the reason "Funny" was widely accepted to be sold in the OG section is because of its popularity/rarity/usage. When semis are extremely rare/valuable, such as "Depressed" its more beneficial for the buyer and seller for them to be marketed in the OG section; as in this example, that name was appraised more valuable than its root "Depress." Not to mention its mainstream usage.

I'm using the same logic here. It is disruptive rather than helpful for people looking to buy OG names for unpopular Pokemon names to be listed there instead. As Bowser explained, there are an extraordinary amount of Pokemon names and it doesn't make every single one as rare and unique as others considering the fandom/franchise's popularity of that said Pokemon. This is self-evident in not only the prices at which these account sell, but also all the people genuinely confused, annoyed, and inconvenienced by these accounts listed here.

I said it once but I'll say it again ZackIsTheBest , I'm not against Pokemon, collectors of these names, or the sellers. I do see, however, that many people are inconvenienced by this and I do think a voice should be heard. I think it's great that those who like the accounts have a place to buy them, but I do think they should be in the proper location.

Don't like the name, don't buy it. Simple as that. I'm not a Pokemon fan, but I think its not an issue as far as I can see.

Like I've been repeating, this doesn't have anything to do with me disliking the names. I just notice how some have value like other accounts in the OG section and some have the value (and rarity) of those in the semi-OG section.[DOUBLEPOST=1499278372][/DOUBLEPOST]
I disagree because it will still be OG no matter what.
There are more than 800 Pokemon. While these accounts do have value, it's been clear looking through sale prices that not every single one is as valuable as another. That being said, there are a lot that go for around the same prices of semi-OG accounts and due to the cluttering of threads and confusion this causes, I feel like they should simply be allowed to be sold in an area that'd benefit the buyers more.

I wouldn't see it unreasonable to add an entire section dedicated to Pokemon, but that likely won't happen. Some may see it unreasonable, others don't. Personally, I don't like seeing these random Pokemon that I've never heard of before being said as "OG". It's called "OG" for a reason, and they'll be taken a few months before being sold, some will even be taken right before the seller posts the thread of this "OG", or original which is why it is called OG in the first place, account name that would be sold.
