Disallow Similar Name Change

Alright, so today I was having a nice peaceful study session when Dahyun decides it would be funny to change his name to LonelyTree using an I instead of L.

People may have different opinions about this topic, but I believe this is essentially impersonation. I don't think you should be allowed to change your name similar to another user. When I say similar, I don't mean xxdragonxx vs dragon. I mean LonelyTree vs LoneIyTree. Like come on man..

Now, this affects me a lot since a lot of people know me as LonelyTree (A name i've used for around 2 years). It is currently Hello due to a misunderstanding on my part of how the name request system works.

I've known this user as LonelyTree for years and seeing someone named LoneIyTree tripped me out at first. I agree a lot with this suggestion! Can't imagine somebody changing their name to pokernonzr or something like that. If I got messaged by LoneIyTree I would easily be under the impression that it's my friend LonelyTree.

You can change your name back to LonelyTree, because I changed my name from Plate to Tame then back. So in 30 days you can change your name back to LonelyTree, because you were the one that used it previously.

I get you guys mixed up all the time. You guys may be fine with that.. but i'm very against it and i'm sure a lot of people can agree with me.

I wouldn't have enough storage in my computer for all the screenshots I could take with people messaging me on discord or mcm thinking I was someone else. It was annoying ;-;

Personally I agree. This should be denied though. People should have a right to change their name to whatever they want to have. If I change my mcmarket name to sky for a month then change it back to utaninja, then somebody changed their name to sky. Should they get punished?

Ask the user to change their name back. If he doesn’t leave a Devouch as he’s impersonating you. It’s possible, (not for this incident) that the person didn’t realize someone had that name before. Should all previous names be blocked?

You can’t take names used by previous members. Which means he’s technically bypassing the system thus breaking a rule mcm has implied indirectly. Plus, telling him to change his name doesn’t do much. He had to wait an entire month.
