You are comparing apples to oranges here, Discord functions as a instant messenger, guild manager and call handler. Where as reddit functions as something like a forums meets 4chan.
overall purpose, since they both have various things in common, subreddit and server, DMs, bots, moderation etc. so how do you rank them?
In that case, I think then discord is more flexible.
Discord is meant of group communication particularly voice calls. You also have the option to straight screen share your computer screen. You can read how to send videos on discord at technumus. Reddit on the other hand is simply the aggregator of human interests. Communication is greatly limited to the amount of topic, questions, or discussions presented to each subreddit.
