[Discuss] Do you judge people by their profile picture/avatar?

i definitely judge people by their profile pictures subconsciously. I thought you were cocky for a long time because of your toffee-nosed doge, and Doge's Stalex avatar looked welcoming and cute so I figured he was the nice guy on the forums.

That's up to you. I personally prefer drawn avatars over minecraft skins as they look nicer and more professional to me.

There's nothing wrong with yours, but it reminds me of Six because of the same sword

That is the question I am asking. I sometimes feel like I do this to other people. For example, seeing someone with a hot girl as their profile picture on a Minecraft trading site automatically screams out "single 13 year old virgin who has few friends and spends most of their time online to get away from not being liked in the outside world".

Personally, I don't typically judge a person by their avatar to an extent. I will do it the first time I see the user. As stated above, you will get a first impression on someone either from their username, profile picture, or the way they write. When I get to know the person better, I don't tend to look at the profile picture to see how I think of a user.

Avatars are very important on these kind of marketplace forums, especially if you're not very well known around the community. Having a nice, custom avatar shows you really care about how you want to come off. Which is nice. Even if you don't have a custom avatar you can still have a nice looking and respectable avatar as long as it isn't a hot girl, weed, a stale meme, some random black guy you have to try to be like Jordie from Lizard Squad or anything of the likes...

P.s. Rypeo, I've always been a big fan of your avatars. They're very visually appealing for some reason.

True. Whenever I see a new user trying to sell something and they don't even have a profile picture yet really makes me think lower of their credibility.

Anyhow, I don't really judge people based on their pictures unless it is something like a model, guy fawkes mask, or simply no photo.
Those types of photos radiate an aura of unprofessionalism.

I only judge the lack of an avatar, tbh.
As for my own avatar, I followed a photoshop tutorial once, and my current avatar was the result. Its now my default avatar for any website that has an option for it.

I really avoid the people with avatars that are inappropriate, or something pulled off google images.

Anyways, the only people that worry me are people with no profile pics. Honestly, maybe you're into women. Maybe you're into novaskin. Maybe you're into random Google memes. Anything but freaking no profile picture. Just speaks "i cba to upload cause ima take the money and run."
