I make a scam report on a person last week... due to this scam report not being open to public view, another person gets scammed by the same person.

I left neg rep and all, but that's simply not enough.
Do the scam reports faster... anyone with a fair amount of rep can scam so many newbies and get away for it.

The thing is they can’t take up to much at once. It’ll just cause even more backlog.

Do you have any suggestions that could be implemented on that topic? It’s easier said then done.

> cant take up too much at once

so what you're basically saying is that doing more scam reports will create more of a backlog??? are you serious?

I already made a thread on this

https://www.mc-market.org/threads/417805/

it's quite obvious why there's a backlog, because staff is letting one happen purposefully because they wait 2 months for the scammers to reply before moving onto the next batch of scam reports. that's why they do them in batches of 10-20 once a month rather than answering one as it pops up, and your post just proves my point

jfc the staff on this forums is dogshit.

I have an idea: Give people a tag when they're being investigated for scam. Such as "Scam investigation in progress", one that doesn't restrict their access to the forums, but so others can see. And also, if you click the tag they get sent to the report.
some other forums have this, it's a DWC tag on their postbit, and it's not a bad idea

but that's not the main issue here

the issue is that staff doesn't want to do scam reports on purpose, not because they don't have time, but because they think it'll look too clunky or ugly if they answer too many at once, and that's the most retarded reasoning i've heard

You guys are lucky to have staff that interfere with scam reports other forums tend to stay out of it. Depending on the situation.
every market forums ive been on answers scam reports within hours. and they have 10-20k members online at a time. not 350 like this one during its peak hours which is nothing. the problem is mcmarket tries to be "professional" and uses some bullshit protocol,

"hello scammer what do u have to say about this scam report!"
3 weeks later
"hello again scammer! please add me to the conversation"
2 weeks later
"hello again scammer! you have 48 hours"

and to make it even more stupid, they don't move onto the next scam report until the last one's finished[DOUBLEPOST=1543172173][/DOUBLEPOST]
Maybe if the staff didn't have to spend their time responding to the dozens of threads complaining about them, they would have more time to do the actual scam reports.
'
they dont reply wtf u on about

and they do have the time, that's not the issue

I do agree that they need to be done sooner, but like a previous chat mod said (honestly forgot who it was 2 pages ago) no one ever offers suggestions to resolve the problem. It does take a lot of time to get them done and it most certainly is not easy. I am reasonably positive both Sloths and Kram are minors, meaning they have school and they also both live in the U.S., meaning this has been a holiday week and they could be spending it with family. In regards to Justis, he has a life and he is also an Administrator, meaning he has plenty of other responsibilities most of you don't even see. That all being said, yeah they do need to hire more scam resolvers either directly or via promotion, although promoting someone from chat mod to SR makes no sense as being able to handle chat moderation or normal moderation means nothing in terms of their ability to properly handle scam reports.

Overall, they have to do something, whether this means reopening staff applications or simply telling the current scam resolvers to either get their job done or resign, they gotta figure it out but that is on Mick.

Also, I saw some people saying that "it causes more people to get scammed" while this could be true, if someone scams you and you leave them a negative rep for scamming, if someone else goes and deals with them and gets scammed again because they failed to even look at the rep, that is on them. If users are too lazy to look at negative rep they are most definitely too lazy to check the scam reports section to see if there is an open report against whoever they are dealing with.

I'd prefer if you didn't tell me what to do. I don't have to read your posts before I can post my opinion, my opinion is on the general issue everyone is complaining about which is the time it takes to get them done. Don't flatter yourself.

On other forums, the reports are instantly public so that you can read them when going to deal with someone or respond to them if it's relevant to you. They are not hidden out of view for weeks/months until approved.
