I've ran into this issue a countless number of times, but I've managed to always get around it and sort things out, people trash your thread you chuck them a -rep for thrashing and there you go you have your -rep and you have to remove your -rep in order for them to remove yours, reporting never worked (for me). It's a well known thing that should really be sorted out. Maybe making the report reputation system faster and better (again could be just me that's not getting my reps removed fast enough). But it's a serious issue and NEEDS to be sorted out. Here's what you can do

Method #1 - Negative/Neutral Bot Reputation check
  • Have every reputation be checked by a bot, that way pointless neutral/negative reps could be removed
Add-on Method #2 - Verify the bots reputation check

  • If you aren't sure the bot would do the job, get staff to check the reputations that the bot thinks should be deleted
Method #3 - More severe punishments for False Repping

  • I think there should be a harder punishment rather than just getting your rep removed, maybe first offence a 24hr suspension, next one 5d suspension, or something like that
Method #4 - More severe punishments for Trashing

  • Everyone has their opinions, but strait out trashing should done by using the same method about bot checking reported replies/threads (Method #1,#2) Punishments like not being able to comment on as many threads or something like that would do it, this would instantly calm the fire with revenge reps and -reps

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

The best method currently is to make a support ticket because they have to respond to it at some point

The idea sounds good, but I don't know if it'd be possible. I believe the robot would need some type of protocol which will help it identify whether it's a revenge rep or not.

I would suggest a better and faster support team, bots may not be as much helpful as you'd expect.

(Pls no hate i might be wrong, thx)

Bosny's explanation for why revenge rep isn't a bad thing was very good and relevant to this thread. If you neg rep someone because they posted something on a thread that you don't like, then that person will probably have a negative opinion of you and therefore they're likely to give you a neg rep.

I don't like the idea that people have that getting a negative reputation instantly makes you unreputable and unreliable, and we have implemented custom development to reduce this in the form of a single number for rep rather than the old "10/1/1" method of it.

We won't be implementing any of the suggestions you've made because they're trying to prevent something that has no reason to be prevented.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
