Children are the least risky group for coronavirus. We are talking like .013% deaths type of numbers, it's so astronomically low. I think schools are overreacting and we need to just move on with our lives.

At my school district, students are given the option to return to school or do work online. Their decision cannot be changed the entire semester. Why? I don't know. Either coronavirus is a threat or it isn't, why allow us to come to school when it IS a threat? I think they should pick one or the other.

The issue is coming home and spreading it to parents, grandparents, etc.

I think some will reopen but definitely not all.

I hope so. My school has a plan for us to go about half a week on campus. However, my county has decided to go virtual until Jan 2021. So it’s a mixed bag. All we can do is wait and see.

UK: Schools are asked to make their own judgments about how to minimise any risks from coronavirus and how they will consider a range of 'messages' such as staggering break and lunch times and keeping groups apart throughout the day.

Also, wearing a face covering or mask in schools is not recommended. The DfE guidance, supported by scientists, states that masks worn incorrectly can increase the risk of infection and therefore they are not suitable for younger people.

I think the issue here in the states is going to be their plan to keep the students 6 feet apart tbh, classrooms in a lot of schools are already pretty overfilled. Not sure how they will manage that.
