It's always annoying when I go to a thread where someone is asking for a developer or systems administrator, and they say "pm me for details".

I think it should be a rule to include the details in the thread, even at a basic level. "I need a Spigot minigame made. PM me further details." is fine, but "PM me for details" is not.

Also, can it be a rule that they must provide whether or not they're paying? Either the exact amount, or just a simple "Paying/Not paying" thing.

Fire better worded my thoughts.
It annoys me alot more than it should when people do that. I dont get why people do it either. They are going to have to type all the info out anyway when talking to someone in PM about what they want. Likely several times, since someone requesting say a "developer" could be anything. Java, C, HTML / CSS etc. So the chance of the person PMing them been able to do what they want, is less likely.

It its something private then fair enough, but even then some basic info is good.

That annoys me especially. The amount of times someone has requested a "systems administrator" then it turns out in PM they expect me to configure plugins for them. (And once, even build them a spawn as well) If they had stated in their thread what it was they wanted a systems administrator to do for them. I wouldn't have wasted my time. It might not take long to PM / add someone on skype / discord, maybe 2-5 mins for them to respond and get talking about what it is they want. But when its 5+ times a day. It would have saved alot of time, if the info was just in the thread. People also seem to get quite rude / nasty sometimes, if they have explained what they want in PM, then I tell them I cant do that.

Low quality replies like "GLWS" and "Vouch" are agaisnt the rules. So "PM for details" and "title says it all" should be too. Not once have I seen a thread in all my time here, where the title has said everything that needs to be said.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Just deal with it. It's no big deal. It's not gonna kill you to ask, I see no reason to make a rule for something this petty.

oh, classify it as a LQ post? that makes a bit more sense, I guess.
'title says it all' shouldnt be a problem IF the title is informative enough.

There is one other advantage to adding this rule. Which would help with mitigating scamming.

For example someone is selling a server. Posting just PM for info, would get a small % of people to PM, see and maybe buy the server. If screenshots and more info has to be posted in the thread, then more people are likely to see the server and maybe recognise it, if the seller is trying to sell a leaked server, claiming it to be their own. They are more likely to get caught. Same can be said for builds, plugins, websites etc.

I disagree. For people/companies who are under contracts/NDA's. You can't really put everything out there.
This suggestion isn't asking for everything to be put out there.

I don't see a need for us to add more rules like this and further restrict the content that users can say on the site. If you would like to do a deal with someone who says "PM me for details" then that's great, if not then just skip their post and look at someone else. It's only really hurting the person who says it if they want to be PM'd for details anyways.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
