It has built in transitions that are easy to use, splitting, trimming and other visual and audio effects. Personally I learned how to sync clips with the music and do correct transitions.

Other than that, it has a recorder that is useful.

It is basic but if you learn how to do the above, Vegas or Premiere will be easy as you will actually know what to do.

Go for adobe, you get premiere pro and after effects, after effects being the most powerful tool of all.
